¡Hola, amigos! Los que ya me conocen, saben que tengo una gran fascinación por el antiguo Egipto, por esa razón, hoy les traigo, con lujo de detalles, como fue el descubrimiento de la tumba del faraón más famoso del mundo (Tutankamón) también conocido como El Niño Rey.
Hi friends! Those who already know me, know that I have a great fascination for ancient Egypt, for that reason today I bring you, in great detail, how was the discovery of the tomb of the most famous pharaoh in the world, Tutankhamun, also known as The boy king.

Hacía ya muchísimo tiempo que el Arqueólogo y Egiptólogo británico, Howard Carter estaba en Egipto, sin encontrar nada especial, ninguna tumba que le resultara interesante, para colmo, fue enviado a una excavación lejos del famoso Valle de los Reyes. Sin embargo, durante una de sus exploraciones, encontró estatuas con el nombre de Tutankamón y su esposa Ankesenamón, y no había registros de que hubiesen encontrado aún a este faraón en alguna tumba, solo aparecía su nombre, por lo tanto comenzó a pensar que podría estar a punto de hacer un gran hallazgo.
It was a long time since the British Archaeologist and Egyptologist, Howard Carter was in Egypt, without finding anything special, no tomb that was interesting to him, to top it off, he was sent to an excavation far from the famous Valley of the Kings. However, during one of his explorations, he found statues with the name of Tutankhamun and his wife Ankesenamon and there were no records that this pharaoh had yet been found in any tomb, only his name appeared, therefore he began to think that he could be about to make a great find.

On November 4, 1922, while Carter and his team were working on the huts of the builders of the tomb of Ramses II, he found a step carved into the rock, under one of the first huts. The archaeologist's eyes were opened to the limit and his heart filled with emotion at the find, so, together with his team, he spent the whole day digging and finally revealed what, at first glance, was the entrance to a very important tomb. .

He still didn't know if he was in front of the tomb of Tutankhamun but the door they had found was marked with the image of a jackal and nine prisoners or enemies of Egypt, and this was an inescapable sign that it was the resting place of a great personality. Carter realized that although there were some indications of theft from the evidence he found in the corridor where the debris was (footprints, objects scattered on the ground, even handprints on some objects) they could possibly be carried out shortly after of the burial, and the culprits could have been the people in charge of the necropolis (maybe they only took some jewels, small objects that they could sell quickly)

On February 16, 1922, after completing all the inventory work, Carter prepares to remove the seal that concealed the next door. In the photograph below we can see Carter posing before the camera and Lord Carnavon taking a look inside the cavity (this time I could not get color photographs)
