Hoy voy a describir la dinámica del bullying, y lo haré tomando como ejemplo una ilustración de la naturaleza. Así que estos son los nombres que daré a los actores: Los ciervos atacados, los depredadores, las hienas y los otros ciervos.
Today I am going to describe the dynamics of bullying, and I will do it using an illustration from nature as an example. So these are the names that I will give to the actors: The attacked deer, the predators, the hyenas and the other deer.
Los ciervos atacados: Son colocados en la posición de víctimas.
The attacked deer: They are placed in the position of victims.
- Son seleccionadas por factores personales, grupales o relacionales que lo hace verse como raro o diferente de sus pares.
- They are selected by personal, group or relational factors that make them see themselves as strange or different from their peers.
- El acoso le deja a cada ciervo atacado vulnerable, angustiado, ansioso y con miedo. Algunos comienzan a experimentar pesadillas.
- Harassment leaves each attacked deer vulnerable, distraught, anxious and afraid. Some begin to experience nightmares.
- En casos extremos presentará depresión y conductas autodestructivas. Ej. Cortarse la piel o intentos de suicidio.
- In extreme cases, it will present depression and self-destructive behaviors. Eg skin cutting or suicide attempts.
Los ciervos atacados muestran las siguientes señales:
Attacked deer show the following signs:
- Presencia de lesiones injustificadas y ropa deteriorada que evidencia algún conflicto.
- Presence of unjustified injuries and deteriorated clothing that shows some conflict.
- Pérdidas o daño constante de sus pertenencias; útiles escolares, dispositivos personales, dinero y comida.
- Constant loss or damage to your belongings; school supplies, personal devices, money and food.
- Pérdida de la motivación, evidenciado una baja de su rendimiento académico y abandono de aficiones.
- Loss of motivation, evidenced a drop in their academic performance and abandonment of hobbies.
- Irritabilidad y tristeza.
- Irritability and sadness.
- Conductas regresivas. Ej. Niños en edad escolar que comienzan a mojar la cama cuando ya habían superado esta etapa.
- Regressive behaviors. Eg school-age children who begin to wet the bed when they had already passed this stage.
- Poca motivación para ir al colegio, con presencia de temor, irritabilidad o tristeza al abordar el tema.
- Little motivation to go to school, with the presence of fear, irritability or sadness when approaching the subject.
- Trastornos alimenticios.
- Eating disorders.
Los Depredadores: Son los agresores o victimarios.
Predators: They are the aggressors or victimizers.
- Tienden a relacionarse con el otro desde el poder y el control.
- They tend to relate to each other from power and control.
- De personalidad agresiva e impulsiva.
- Aggressive and impulsive personality.
- Les cuesta cumplir normas y muestra hostilidad hacia las figuras de autoridad.
- They have a hard time following rules and show hostility towards authority figures.
- Puede que esté siendo maltratado en casa o reaccionando a sometimientos del pasado.
- He may be being mistreated at home or reacting to past abuse.
Los depredadores pueden identificarse por las siguientes señales:
Predators can be identified by the following signs:
- Hábitos vandálicos como el romper cosas o robarlas.
- Vandalism habits such as breaking things or stealing them.
- Lenguaje soez y grosero, y uso de sobrenombres peyorativos al referirse a otros.
- Profanity and foul language, and use of pejorative nicknames when referring to others.
- No se responsabilizan por sus acciones ni asumen sus errores y culpa a otros de su reacción o de los daños que ha cometido.
- They do not take responsibility for their actions or assume their mistakes and blame others for their reaction or the damage they have done.
- Muestran dominio y control sobre sus pares sin justificación alguna.
- They show dominance and control over their peers without any justification.
- Es poco tolerante, por lo que se enfada rápido y tiene reacciones impulsivas. Conducta iracunda que lo lleva a pelear frecuentemente, incluso con adultos.
- He is not very tolerant, so he gets angry quickly and has impulsive reactions. Angry behavior that leads to frequent fights, even with adults.
Las hienas: Son los instigadores y son parte del acoso a la víctima.
Hyenas: They are the instigators and are part of the harassment of the victim.
Los otros ciervos: Son los observadores pasivos.
The other deer: They are the passive observers.
- Niegan el hecho o lo justifican.
- They deny that the fact or justify it.
- No denuncian.
- They do not report.
- Su indiferencia tiene que ver con el temor a las represalias.
- His indifference has to do with the fear of retaliation.
Debemos ayudar a nuestros hijos a identificar a los diversos actores en la trama de bullying y e describirles muy bien a los depredadores y como llegan a ser en su vida adulta, así como también la importancia de actuar con sabiduría para diferenciarnos de ellos y librarnos de sus acciones.
We must help our children to identify the various actors in the bullying plot and to describe predators very well and how they become in their adult lives, as well as the importance of acting wisely to differentiate ourselves from them and get rid of their Actions.
