El dengue es un virus causado por un mosquito denominado AEDES AEGYPTI también llamado zancudo patas blancas, este mosquito por lo general se desarrolla con frecuencia en el África, Asia, América, por ende es una enfermedad endémica.

La enfermedad se transmite cuando este mosquito pica a una persona infectada, y luego pica a más personas, es una enfermedad que puede llegar a ser desde leve hasta una forma más grave.
El dengue clásico se caracteriza por presentar malestar general, dolor óseo, en cambio en el dengue hemorrágico se producen erupciones cutáneas, y sangrado en fosas nasales o encías, además pueden aparecer hematomas en cualquier parte del cuerpo.
Por lo general entre los principales síntomas se encuentran; dolores de cabeza, náuseas, tos, diarrea, dolores musculares, y vómitos.
Estos mosquitos desechan sus huevos en aguas limpias y allí se reproducen, es una enfermedad prevenible, es importante mantener nuestros hogares limpios, se debe evitar el acumulo de basuras y agua en envases como por ejemplo floreros, botellas, mantener cubiertos los recipientes donde se almacena el agua limpia, desechar todos aquellos objetos que acumulen agua ya que esto desencadena con más rapidez la propagación del dengue.
En caso de presentar la sintomatología ya mencionada evita automedicarte, y acude al centro de salud más cercano.
Es importante llevar a cabo las medidas preventivas, debemos concientizar compartiendo la información con familiares, amigos, vecinos, recordemos que es una enfermedad que se propaga rápidamente afectando todos los grupos de edades desde niños hasta adultos mayores.
