Revisando los álbumes de fotografías, me encontré con gratos recuerdos, que espero con Dios, pronto volver a vivir. Ya hace algunos años, tuvimos la oportunidad de ir a visitar a mi cuñado, que ya estaba preparando el terreno para irse a vivir a otro país y su primera escala fue la ciudad de Lima, en Perú. En esos tiempos los venezolanos teníamos la oportunidad de comprar los dólares a precios preferenciales y podíamos darnos algunos gustos, así que aceptamos la invitación del cuñado para pasear y conocer; rápidamente preparamos los papeles y coordinamos unas vacaciones allá.

Some years ago, we had the opportunity to visit my brother-in-law, who was already preparing the ground to go and live in another country, and his first stop was the city of Lima, in Peru. At that time we Venezuelans had the opportunity to buy dollars at preferential prices and we could give ourselves some treats, so we accepted the invitation of the brother-in-law to go for a walk and meet; we quickly prepared the papers and coordinated a vacation there.
El viaje fue tranquilo y al llegar al aeropuerto de Lima, nos esperaba el cuñado lleno de felicidad por ver a su hermana. En el camino al apartamento donde él vivía no paraba de hablar de todo lo que nos quería mostrar, les puedo decir que lo que hicimos fue llegar al apartamento y guardar las maletas para ponernos a caminar y empezar a conocer la ciudad. Fue una larga y agradable caminata por varios sitios, todos muy bonitos, mi cuñado es excelente guía y mejor anfitrión.
The trip was smooth and when we arrived at the airport in Lima, our brother-in-law was waiting for us full of happiness to see his sister. It was a long and pleasant walk through several places, all very beautiful, my brother-in-law is an excellent guide and a better host.
Llegamos a medianoche al apartamento cansados, pero felices, a descansar para seguir al día siguiente descubriendo nuevos lugares y probando los diferentes platillos y postres. No engordamos más, porque gastábamos las calorías con los largos paseos a pie. Déjenme decirles que es preferible ir a pie, que montarse en los taxis, ya que los choferes allí manejan como suicidas; bueno a mi parecer, que soy más pasivo al conducir.
Lo que conocimos de Lima fue mayormente Miraflores, una zona muy agradable, con grandes y hermosos lugares para visitar; eso sí, al llegar la hora de la comida, siempre mi cuñado nos llevaba donde él ya había probado y eran los mejores sitios en cuanto a calidad y precios.
Al mirar las fotografías, y luego escribiendo estas letras, me he llenado de nostalgia por los momentos compartidos con mis cuñados, todos muy serviciales, excelentes anfitriones y siempre estaban promoviendo encuentros hasta sin excusas, sólo para compartir momentos en familia. Hoy están todos viviendo en Chile y uno de mis sueños es poder ir a visitarlos y así poder realizar el sueño de mis hijos de montarse en un avión, que con Dios lo lograremos.

What we knew about Lima was mostly Miraflores, a very nice area with big and beautiful places to visit; though, when it was time for lunch, my brother-in-law always took us to where he had already tried and they were the best places in terms of quality and prices.
Looking at the pictures, and then writing these letters, I was filled with nostalgia for the moments shared with my brothers-in-law, all very helpful, excellent hosts and were always promoting meetings even without excuses, just to share moments with family. Today they are all living in Chile and one of my dreams is to be able to visit them and thus be able to realize my children's dream of getting on a plane, which with God we will achieve.
En este viaje visitamos fue a mi cuñando Danly, quien prepara unas súper hamburguesas entre otras especialidades y unas bebidas con vodka que no provoca parar de tomarlas, y eso que no soy bebedor de licor.
