One of the snacks that my mom used to prepare for me when I was a child were these wheat flour empanadas filled with banana jam.
Harina de trigo 200g | Wheat flour 200g |

Huevo 1 | Egg 1 |
Mantequilla 3 cucharadas | Butter 3 tablespoons |
Agua dos cucharadas | Water 2 tablespoons |
Una cucharada de ron | A spoonful of rum |
Plátano maduro 1 | Ripe banana 1 |
Azúcar 3 cucharadas | Sugar 4 tablespoons |
Clavos de olor | Cloves |
The first step is to prepare the filling of the empanadas and to do so, the banana is thinly sliced and boiled. Then add the three spoonfuls of sugar and the cloves, stir the mixture until it takes on a golden color and becomes thick. Then remove from the heat.
For the dough, in a large bowl, place the previously sifted wheat flour, butter, egg, rum and the two tablespoons of water. Then, start mixing all the ingredients until you get a soft and pliable dough.
The next step is to prepare the empanadas. To do this, you take a small amount of dough and on a flat surface you stretch it out and with the help of your hands you make a circular shape, add the filling and then close and seal it with the help of a fork.
Finally, bake for approximately 20 minutes or until the top is consistent. Cool for a few minutes and serve.
