Responder qué hace que una imagen nos llame la atención es algo subjetivo. Muchos especializados en la materia de la fotografía coinciden en que una foto debe al menos dos elementos:
1.- Debe narrar una historia.
2.- Debe capturar una realidad que pocas veces haya sido retratada.
Answering what makes an image catch our attention is subjective. Many specialists in the field of photography agree that a photo must have at least two elements:
1.- It must narrate a story.
2.- It must capture a reality that has rarely been portrayed.
Yo opino igual,
pero dentro de esta subjetividad, cada persona elige una serie de parámetros para destacar su trabajo. Se supone que el uso de las técnicas diferenciará, en gran medida, a cada fotógrafo.
I feel the same way,
but within this subjectivity, each person chooses a series of parameters to highlight their work. It is assumed that the use of the techniques will, to a great extent, differentiate each photographer.

qué tan subjetivo es esto, mostrándole la siguiente foto sin ningún tipo de edición.

Tomando en cuenta la historia, el momento único, yo agregaré otra variante para reducirlas a tres: La edición.

La foto la tomé en una montaña frente a mi casa, en San Antonio de Los Altos, estado Miranda, Venezuela. A nivel de encuadre, de la disposición de los elementos, de los colores, se trata de un escenario bonito y es una foto bien hecha.
The photo was taken on a mountain in front of my house, in San Antonio de Los Altos, Miranda State, Venezuela. In terms of framing, the arrangement of the elements, the colors, it's a nice scene and it's a well done photo.
Ahora bien, se viene la parte subjetiva y oculta de esta y de muchas fotos: la historia. No siempre sabremos qué hay detrás de cada toma, sobre todo cuando son paisajes. Por lo general, no conocemos el entorno, la cultura y otros pormenores de lo que vemos.
But the subjective and hidden part of this and many photos is this: the story. We won't always know what's behind each shot, especially when they are landscapes. Generally, we do not know the environment, culture and other details of what we see.

En esta foto hay algo peculiar,
esa montaña se había quemado días atrás y esas bellas flores sobrevivieron a las llamas de alguna forma. Además, no son tan comunes que salgan en ese lugar, por lo que cuando las vi decidí hacer esa toma y luego hacer una ligera edición.
There's something peculiar about this picture,
that mountain had burned days before and those beautiful flowers somehow survived the flames. Besides, they are not so common to come out in that place, so when I saw them I decided to do that shot and then do a light edition.
Luego de aclarar esto, comprendemos qué tan complicado es descifrar una foto, sabiendo que nuestros ojos, en primera instancia, solo están analizando la belleza de lo que ve a simple vista, viendo qué contrastes nos enternecen o no nos llaman la atención.
After clarifying this, we understand how complicated it is to decipher a photo, knowing that our eyes, in the first instance, are only analyzing the beauty of what they see with the naked eye, seeing what contrasts touch us or do not catch our attention.
Siempre que hagas una foto de paisaje,
asegúrate de contar una historia, trata de retratar un momento único, así solo sea entendible para pocas personas y luego, aumenta su belleza con alguna edición que sea de tu gusto.
As long as you take a landscape photo,
make sure you tell a story, try to portray a unique moment, even if it is only understandable to a few people, and then enhance its beauty with some editing that is to your liking.
Si tu foto de paisaje es buena,
resaltará por los colores y la belleza de la naturaleza. Si además de eso, tú añades una particularidad al horizonte que capturaste, la foto comenzará a ser especial para un grupo de personas y esa cifra podrá incrementar cuando se den cuenta del extra que añadiste.
If your landscape photo is good,
will stand out because of the colors and beauty of nature. If on top of that, you add a particularity to the horizon you captured, the photo will start to be special for a group of people and that figure may increase when they realize the extra you added.
