Mis navidades lejos de mi familia!

Hellooo! Como andan? Bueno, como estuve perdida, tampoco pude hacer un post deseandoles feliz navidad y prospero año nuevo, pero nunca es tarde.

Mi situación es muy común la verdad, con la tasa tan alta de inmigrantes venezolanos alrededor del mundo, pero lo que la hace diferente es que estoy lejos de mi familia porque estudio lejos, soy foranea.

My situation is very common indeed, with the high rate of Venezuelan immigrants around the world, but what makes it different is that I am far from my family because I study far away, I am a foreigner.

Yo soy de Punto Fijo, Falcon, y actualmente hago mis pasantías clínicas en Táchira, San Cristóbal, estamos un poco lejos, por el tema pandemia no hubo transporte y no pude viajar. Pero la verdad que estuve rodeada de personas muy buenas, y muy buenos amigos, todos los días agradezco tener mi perrito que es como mi hijo, es mi familia.

I am from Punto Fijo, Falcon, and I am currently doing my clinical internships in Táchira, San Cristóbal, we are a little far away, due to the pandemic there was no transport and I could not travel. But the truth is that I was surrounded by very good people, and very good friends, every day I appreciate having my little dog who is like my son, he is my family.

Una de las cosas que mas me llamo la atención es la forma en que hacen la comida venezolana navideña aca en Táchira, entre esas la manera de hacer las hallacas; en mi casa las hallacas se hacen con guiso cocido, se amarra en hoja de plátano y solo dura 40 minutos en la olla para su cocción, acá el guiso es crudo, igual lo amarran en hojas de plátano pero dura 4 horas en agua para su cocción, diosss era una tortura sentir el olor y tener que esperar 4 horas. Pero bueno, en sabor no es muy diferente.

One of the things that most caught my attention is the way they make Venezuelan Christmas food here in Táchira, among those the way of making the Hallas; In my house, the Hallas are made with cooked stew, it is tied in a banana leaf and only lasts 40 minutes in the pot for cooking, here the stew is raw, it is still tied in banana leaves but it lasts 4 hours in water for its Cooking, diosss it was torture to smell the smell and have to wait 4 hours. But hey, in taste it is not very different.

Luego de la cena en casa de la familia de mi novio, nos reunimos con unos grandes amigos, un grupo pequeño por el tema pandemia.

El peor dia para mi fue el 31, recibir el año nuevo sin mi mamita, presente por telefono pero muy lejos para darnos un abrazo. Teniendo en mente que todos los sacrificios en algún momento valen la pena.

After dinner at my boyfriend's family home, we met with some great friends, a small group, or because of the pandemic issue.

The worst day for me was the 31st, to receive the New Year without my mom, present by phone but far away to give us a hug. Keeping in mind that all the sacrifices at some point are worth it.
