I'm with you there. My mum was a nurse and worked a lot with the elderly. While the UK doesn't officially allow euthanasia, for those who are terminal and in pain it's generally accepted that the pain relief will reach a level where it's what finally ends their life. Unfortunately, it's usually only when the pain is such that no non-lethal dose will work any more.
It sounds horrid to me. I honestly don't want my last moments to be the most painful. I would rather go out smiling and crying with the people I love.
