Home made Takoyaki! I love it so much!

I was finally able to make time to hang out with friends. My workload has increased and I have concentrated a lot on my work over the past three months. It was one of the most stressful jobs of my life, but after finishing it, I am very glad that I was able to finish it with my team. I believe it was a very valuable experience. It was a great experience to work with the team to complete something and a good memory in my own life, and I am glad I did it until the end.

After finishing that job, I was finally able to make some time, so I decided to invite my friends and host a takoyaki party at my house.

Do you know what Takoyaki is?! It is the most delicious food in the world! LOL! Yeah, it's from Osaka!

If you have never heard of takoyaki, watch this YouTube video attached above. Takoyaki is a very popular food in Osaka, and when I was a child, it was sold at a food stall for about 150 yen (Japanese Yen - JPY) for 10 pieces. In Osaka, takoyaki is a kind of "dagashi (snacks)", which is a food that people make when they have a party at home or chat with friends while eating takoyaki.

How to make takoyaki?

Chop ingredients in pieces!!!

You may ask, what ingredients do we use?! Well, take a look at the pictures I posted below! 😃

Potato salad - I put it in takoyaki. Well, it's good!

The ingredients for the original takoyaki are very simple: dissolve flour in water and stir into it an egg, a little bit of baking powder, rice flour, and, if available, put some soup stock too. It is then cooked on a takoyaki griddle (a frying pan with many small dents on it), and small pieces of octopus are placed in the hollows, which are then cooked into balls, which are then eaten around the griddle.

However, that is no fun! So many new styles of takoyaki are being created today. Although the most common way to eat takoyaki is to add tako, octopus in pieces🐙, a new takoyaki style is to put various things inside and enjoy eating it, like tuna with mayo and others!

Shrips and crabs - well, the crab is a fake one though! LOL!

For those who do not eat meat but do eat seafood, I recommend adding shrimp🦐 or crab🦀 fillets. They are very tasty!

Don't miss CHEESE!!

Isn't cheese one of the best ingredients mankind has ever thought of? I recently saw a National Geographic program that said that humans are the only mammals that have been able to digest dairy products other than breast milk. Moreover, this miracle of fermenting it and adding flavor makes takoyaki even tastier! Miracle!! haha!

Ginger in pieces - Don't miss it!

The taste can be further enhanced by adding finely chopped ginger. Please try it.

Kimchi in pieces - I love it so I put it in takoyaki anyways

The West created a fermented food called cheese, and the East created a fermented food called kimchi. I like kimchi very much. Of course, it goes well with takoyaki!

My friends brought some bottles of sake and umeshu - I love them!

Sake is still the best accompaniment to Japanese food. Umeshu (plum wine) is also delicious.

Well, this is Kalles, the Swedish caviler - I tried it with takoyaki. It was good!

Kalles, a Swedish food often eaten with boiled eggs for breakfast, is made of fish roe and seasoned with mayonnaise. It goes very well with takoyaki, and I love to eat it with it! This is definitely something that would be sold in Japan!

Kalles! Sweden has more than IKEA and Volvo! We have KALLES!!

This is a desert which my friends made for us. She is amazing!

I invited my friends to my house and we had a great time. I am so happy that my friends enjoyed the takoyaki so much. Osaka still has a culture that it can boast to the world! LOL!

仕事が一段落し、やっと友人と遊ぶ時間を作ることができて。仕事量が増えて、この3か月間はかなり集中して仕事をした。自分の人生の中でもかなりストレスのたまる仕事ではあったけど、やり終えた後では最後までチームのみんなとやりきって本当によかったと思っている。

とても貴重な体験をさせてもらえたと思っている。チームと何かをやりきる体験や、自身の人生の中での良い思い出となり最後までやってよかったと感じている。

その仕事も終えて、やっと時間を作ることが出来たので友達を誘って家でたこ焼きパーティーを開催することにしました。

もしたこ焼きを知らない人は、このYouTubeの動画を観てみてください。たこ焼きは大阪でとても人気のある食べ物で、わたしの子供の頃は屋台で10個、150円ぐらいで売っていました。今では観光客をターゲットにして、10個600円ぐらいで売っているのですが、大阪ではたこ焼きは「駄菓子(スナック)」の一種で、たこ焼きを食べながら友達と談笑したり、家でパーティーを開いてその時にちょっと作る食べ物です。

オリジナルのたこ焼きの具材はとてもシンプルで、小麦粉を水で溶かし、その中に卵、少しだけペーキングパウダー、米粉、そしてあれば出汁を入れてかき混ぜます。それを、たこ焼き用の鉄板(フライパンに小さな穴がたくさんついた物)の上で焼き、くぼみにタコを小さく切ったものを入れ、それをボール状にして焼き、それを鉄板を囲んで食べます。

ただ、それだと面白くないので、今日ではたくさんの新しいたこ焼きが生まれています。タコ🐙を入れるのが主流ではありますが、中にはいろいろな物を入れて楽しみながら食べるのが新しいスタイルのたこ焼きです。

肉は食べないけど、シーフードを食べると言う人にはエビ🦐やカニ🦀の切り身を入れるのをお勧めします。すごくおいしいですよ!

チーズって人類が考えた最高の食材の1つではないでしょうか?最近見たナショナルジオグラフィックの番組で、哺乳類で母乳以外の乳製品を消化できるようになったのはヒトだけだそうです。しかも、それを発酵させて旨味をたすというこの奇跡により、たこ焼きをよりおいしくします!

生姜を細かく刻んだものをいれると更に味が引き締まり、旨味が増します。ぜひ、入れてみてください。

西洋ではチーズと言う発酵食品を生み出し、東洋ではキムチと言う発酵食品を生み出しました。キムチ、めっちゃ好きです。もちろんたこ焼きとの相性もばっちし!

日本食には日本酒がやっぱり一番です。梅酒もおいしかったー。

Kallesというスウェーデンではよく朝ごはんにゆで卵につけて食べる魚の卵とマヨネーズで味付けした食べ物があります。たこ焼きとの相性がかなりよく、わたしはこれをたこ焼きと一緒に食べるのが大好きです!これは、絶対に日本で売るとうけるはず!

友達を家に誘い、楽しい時間を過ごすことが出来ました。たこ焼きがこんなに友人達に喜んでもらえて本当にうれしいです。大阪にはまだまだ世界に誇れる文化がある!笑!!

今日、たまたまお好み焼きとたこ焼きの話で盛り上がって想像だけでヨダレが出そうになっていたところに、この写真を見て食べたい気持ちが復活してしまいましたー。美味しそうです。ビデオ観たいですが、食べたくなりすぎるので怖くて見られない自分がいます。笑
Kalles、気になります。日本からお好み焼き機を持って行ったのですか?それにしてもたこ焼きは可愛らしい見た目ですね。この形に行きついた大阪の人はやっぱりすごい発想の持ち主です。
