¡Hola Hivers! El día de hoy quiero contarles sobre el último musical que vi, se trata de "In The Heights", una película de Drama-Musical, estrenada en Junio del presente año, dirigida por John M. Chu y con guion elaborado por Quiara Alegría Hudes, basada en el musical homónimo escrito por la misma Hudes, con música de Lin-Manuel Miranda, el cual tuvo su debut en Broadway en Marzo del 2008.
Hi Hivers! Today I want to tell you about the last musical I saw, "In The Heights ", a Drama-Musical movie, released in June of this year, directed by John M. Chu and scripted by Quiara Alegria Hudes, based on the musical of the same name written by Hudes herself, with music by Lin-Manuel Miranda, which had its Broadway debut in March 2008.

Su historia gira en torno a la vida de varios personajes que forman parte del vecindario latino de Washington Heights, en Manhattan, Nueva York, donde a lo largo de tres días se van tratando puntos importantes de la vida diaria de todos y cada uno de sus personajes, que están íntimamente conectados unos con otros.
The story revolves around the lives of several characters who are part of the Latin neighborhood of Washington Heights in Manhattan, New York, where over the course of three days, important points in the daily lives of each and every one of its characters, who are intimately connected to each other, are dealt with.
Cuenta con cast de espectacular conformado por artistas como Anthony Ramos, Melissa Barrera, Leslie Grace, Corey Hawkins, y Olga Merediz, entre sus protagonistas, y con una participación especial del mismo Lin-Manuel Miranda. Esta inicia en el presente, siendo narrada por el protagonista, Usnavi de la Vega (Anthony Ramos), quien le cuenta la historia que vivió en este bello vecindario, 10 años atrás, a cuatro niños muy interesados en conocer qué significa tener un "Sueñito", lo cual establece las bases del musical, dado que cada personaje involucrado tenía un sueño por cumplir, fuera crecer como diseñadora, volver a su país natal, encontrar el amor, y muchos más que se van desarrollando a lo largo de la película.
It has a spectacular cast made up of artists such as Anthony Ramos, Melissa Barrera, Leslie Grace, Corey Hawkins, and Olga Merediz, among its protagonists, and with the special participation of Lin-Manuel Miranda himself. It begins in the present, being narrated by the protagonist, Usnavi de la Vega (Anthony Ramos), who tells the story he lived in this beautiful neighborhood, 10 years ago, to four children very interested in knowing what it means to have a "Sueñito", which establishes the basis of the musical, since each character involved had a dream to fulfill, whether it was to grow as a designer, return to her native country, find love, and many more that are developed throughout the film.

La música me atrevo a decir que es una obra maestra, desde el primer número te emociona de una forma que se me hace difícil poner en palabras, algo tan maravilloso que con cada canción te dan unas ganas de bailar increíbles, ya que maneja variados géneros musicales entre los que destacan la salsa, el merengue, y el hip-hop, en ocasiones durante una misma pieza, y que quienes conocen a Lin-Manuel Miranda y su obra de "Hamilton", saben lo que es capaz de hacer con este último género.
The music I dare to say is a masterpiece, from the first number it moves you in a way that I find hard to put into words, something so wonderful that with each song makes you want to dance incredibly, as it handles various musical genres like salsa, merengue, and hip-hop, sometimes during the same piece, and those who know Lin-Manuel Miranda and his work on "Hamilton ", know what he's capable of doing with that last genre.

Así mismo, unos de sus puntos que me gustaría destacar antes de finalizar son la fotografía, la puesta en escena, y números de baile que se presentan, que hacen de ésta una obra exquisita y en extremo disfrutable, y que a su vez logran lo que, para mí, es algo importante, te hacen sentir representado de forma súper natural, tanto que te sientes parte de la película, como si fueras un personaje más o estuvieran narrando tu historia. Esto último es, al menos, como yo me sentí mientras la veía.
Likewise, some of the points that I would like to highlight before wrapping up are the photography, the staging, and dance numbers that are presented, which make this an exquisite and extremely enjoyable work, which in turn achieve what, for me, is something important, they make you feel represented in a super natural way, so much so that you feel part of the film, as if you were a character or they were narrating your story. The latter is, at least, how I felt while watching it.

Honestamente, sobre esta película hay demasiado que decir, y con todo eso estoy seguro que aún así me quedaría corto, pero siento que es una de esas recomendaciones que se disfrutan más, y puedes juzgar de mejor forma, cuando lo ves por ti mismo. Como fan de los musicales ratifico lo dicho en el título, esta se volvió mi película favorita y la vería mil veces, y por los momentos sigo a la espera de la adaptación de West Side Story, que saldrá más adelante este año.
Honestly, there is too much to say about this movie, and with all I could say I'm sure I would still fall short, but I feel it's one of those recommendations that you enjoy more, and can judge better, when you see it for yourself. As a fan of musicals I ratify what I said in the title, this became my favorite movie and I would watch it a thousand times, and at the moment I am still waiting for the adaptation of West Side Story, which will be out later this year.
