After over two decades of damage from rain and stupid carpenter bees making damaging holes in the wood every year ("tracker jackers" as I refer to the annoying flying pests that play daredevil games hovering in front of you everytime you walk outside🐝) we finally caved in and are having all of the rotted wood, steps, and posts on our deck replaced this year.
It's been a royal pain in the butt without having the luxury of having a deck to walk out on, not to mention missing the daily visits from the birds while the feeder is down. The deck can't get done soon enough even if it means listening to the carpenter's noisy tools before 7am on days it's not raining!
There aren't many flowers blooming yet due to the strange weather this Spring, though I think we had the last frost for the season a few nights ago. It's anyone's guess. This brightly colored fire hydrant in the subdivision was the most photographic thing I found on this rainy, overcast day!
It's the perfect time for road projects to get completed. Glad to see cracked areas of streets in the neighborhood finally being repaired.
The rainy skies finally cleared and I was thankful to be able to take a walk and get some much needed fresh air and exercise. The crescent moon looked especially pretty in the sky tonight.
My son made a batch of homemade oatmeal chocolate chip cookies while I supervised the baking part. It made the house smell yummy and the cookies tasted delicious!
I'll be doing a separate post about them at a later time.🍪
I hope everyone is staying safe and keeping healthy while practicing social distancing during the Coronavirus pandemic. Good news is that it is helping flatten the curve!
Please continue to stay strong in spirit and have faith that in time things are going to return to a new state of normalcy!

Oh, great to hear your rain season is over ;)) Lovely walking area by the way. Hope you will get it ready till summer.
We pray for rain here. This winter and spring are very dry, and we are exlecting crop failure this year. As if we have nothing more to worry about
Wow, see those yummy. They must be so delicious. Thanks for sharing the experience dear @ninahaskin
Too much going on in your end, @ninahaskin! 😍😜 Glad you're staying busy. 😊
I was wondering what's the story with bright colored fire hydrant.
I guess no story for now.
You're right, this is a perfect time for projects like repairing a deck. I wish they were doing more roadwork around here, I'm surprised that I don't see more of it.
Hey @ninahaskin I don't think you are going to succeed in 'flattening the curve' if you devour too many of those delicious cookies you made. 😀 😀 😀
I will look forward to seeing the recipe when you post it. Stay well and happy munching. 😋
Lolz good one! :D
That is my problem, if I exercise, I want more cookies LOL!
Thanks for the mention. 😉
