I ain't saying that rewards do not play a vital role in this ecosystem but I am sure that there is a solution to your problem and that is not quitting ;)
I totally agree man.
I am doing my own art and that's skateboarding and I am also tired of posting my work for free in other platforms. First Steem and now Hive have given me hope that I can achieve my dream which is to be able to make a living out of skateboarding.
Just don't let it affect you so much man. Platforms like Hive need people like you ;)
