How do we deal with greed that has been carved into many hearts?
How do we tell children to follow a different path
When they can see that our words and actions don't match?
How do we heal the brokenhearted and tend to their wounds
When all we do is focus on ourselves and the things we want?
How do we preach love but the only person we love is just us?
How do we lead by examples when our ways are clouded with grey areas?
We have a lot of things that can go round but they won't
As long as we are consumed by what we want without care for another
We mess things up because we would rather not have than make others have
The greed that is borne out of wickedness for another fellow human
How did we get to this point to be consumed with greed and selfishness?
I wonder why most people won't even see this as grave human sickness
That needs to be addressed with urgency and not tenderness
We are losing humanity to attitudes that we can curb for the general goodness
But no one cares since they are only focused on their own foolishness
How do we get out of this mess? When we become less greedy and more giving
