Yesterday, my friend took me to a wonderful place in our neighborhood town for shashlik. It is a traditional Caucasian dish - meat which they cut into large cubes, marinate and grill over red-hot coals.
This taverna is our favourite because their shashlik is excellent. They cook it the traditional Georgian way. Their menu is various of course, but we usually go there for the dish we like best.
Shashlk must be grilled on metalb skewers. People usually serve the ready pieces taken out of the skewers, on plates, with vegetables: fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, different greens and rings of marinated onion. Special spicy tomato sauce with herbs is essential.
When we make shashlik on our picnics, we like eating the meat out of skewers like in the photo below. I have taken it by photographing old photos from my album.
And that picture is also a fragment of an old paper photo taken by me.
But I must tell you a bit more about the taverna.
The twilight inside creates the illusion that you are inside a courtyard in old Tbilisi, although this is the interior of a very modest building which is properly decorated from outside as well.
It also has a pretty yard, but it was a rainy day, so nobody was there.
I was happy to share this wonderful place with you, my dear new friends - Hivers. Hope, you like it.

Thank you, dear @jlufer, for your kind words! I am very glad you like my post. The tavern is really incredible, especially if you know that it was a very simple building before.
