Have you ever been on a safari? For me it looks like I was a couple of days ago, and not in Africa but near the city of Limassol. My friend had to take some papers from the base near Limassol and offered me to join him. It did not take much time and we headed to the beach. There are two or three routes leading there, and no doubt that my friend decided to choose the shortest of them. It was the road across a salt lake which was dry in summer.

It looked absolutely like a desert for me!

Then we saw a road fork with a slight rise covered with sand, but my driver did not feel any anxiety and started on our way up. You can guess the result - yes, you are right, we got stuck in the sand!

First we tried to help ourselves using our beach towels and car mats but that was a deep stuck.

A good point in it was a chance to take some photos of "desert plants" blossoming in that heat:

Luckily, the beach restaurant we were heading to was in walking distance (not close, especially in the heat, but we managed to reach it, wet and exhausted). It was like reaching an oasis in a real desert!

The owner of the restaurant was extremely kind and helped my friend with his car while I had a refreshing swim in the sea.
After that, we rewarded ourselves with my favourite meal on the island, fried fresh calamari, which you can see in the picture.

When we were leaving the place, the restaurant staff told us not to take more safari in their area. I laughed and said that it was a small adventure to remember and got an immediate answer from my friend, "I started thinking about a new one for you!"
