Visit to the Cifuentes Waterfall - Visita a la Cascada Cifuentes

Many, many years ago, I will tell you more than 12 years ago we went with my wife and my in-laws to visit the largest waterfall in the province of Buenos Aires; the Cifuentes waterfall.

Hace ya muchísimos años, les diré más de 12 años fuimos con mi esposa y mis suegros a conocer el salto de agua más grande de la provincia de Buenos Aires; la Cascada Cifuentes.

This beautiful waterfall is located between the cities of Dorrego (the town where my wife grew up) and the city of Tres Arroyos, which is named for being surrounded precisely by three rivers.

Este hermoso salto de agua está situado entre las ciudades de Dorrego (pueblo en el que se crió) mi esposa y la ciudad de Tres Arroyos, que recibe ese nombre por estar rodeada justamente por tres ríos

The Quequén Salado River begins in the town of González Chávez in the Province of Buenos Aires and flows into the sea at Marisol in the Atlantic Ocean. It has an extension of around 130 kilometers and in its short route it offers countless really beautiful postcards and an endless number of attractions (some natural and others that result from the intervention of man) to visit.

El Río Quequén Salado nace en la localidad de González Chávez en la Provincia de Buenos Aires y desemboca en el mar en Marisol en el Océano Atlántico. Tiene una extensión de alrededor de 130 kilómetros y en su corto recorrido ofrece innumerables postales realmente hermosas y un sinfín de atractivos (algunos naturales y otros que resultan de la intervención del hombre) para visitar.

The river offers various alternatives for those with an adventurous spirit and lovers of nature. You can explore it on foot, by bicycle or on horseback.

El río ofrece variadas alternativas para aquellas personas con espíritu aventurero y amantes de la naturaleza. Se puede recorrer a pie, en bicicleta o a caballo.

Among the best known places we can mention the Cifuentes Waterfall, whose name alludes to the owners of the lands where the spectacular geographical accident is found. This waterfall is the highest waterfall in the Province of Buenos Aires with about 8 meters high, providing a unique and very nice to see show. Its seabed is composed mainly of clay and clay, which causes a dense foam to form when the water falls through the waterfall and travels downstream to its mouth. The most daring tourists can pass behind the curtain of water (between the waterfall and the rock) and observe from there the beautiful natural spectacle.

Entre los lugares más conocidos podemos mencionar a la Cascada Cifuentes cuyo nombre hace alusión a los propietarios de las tierras en las que se encuentra el espectacular accidente geográfico. Esta cascada es el salto de agua más alto de la Provincia de Buenos Aires con unos 8 metros de altura, brindando un espectáculo único y muy lindo de ver. Su lecho marino está compuesto mayormente de greda y arcilla lo que hace que al caer el agua por la cascada se forme una densa espuma que viaja río abajo hasta su desembocadura. Los turistas más osados pueden pasar detrás de la cortina de agua (entre la cascada y la roca) y observar desde allí el hermoso espectáculo natural.

A really beautiful place to enjoy as a family for all those who love outdoor life, where they can walk along the river and enjoy beautiful landscapes and very attractive flora and fauna.
