Cyble which is a Cybersecurity firm has reported a scale of 267 million Facebook profile details on the dark web only for $540. Few weeks back the same firm Cyble exposed the scale of 50M zoom account on the same platform.

The report
One of the threat actors have dropped an online bomb by dropping the identities of 267 Million Facebook Users for 500 Euros – the details include their Email, F-Name, L-Name, phone, Facebook ID, last connection, status, age.

The data does not contain the passwords but the hacker can use the identity to steal more information from other users. Even if few people fall into their trap more important data can be stolen.

According to the Facebook guy.
We are looking into this, but believe it is likely information obtained before changes we made in the past few years to better protect people’s information.

Even if this is true even if the data is from last year it does not mean that everything is fine. It means that their system is weak and our personal information is not safe.

Avoid this kind of thing. Be sure to upload your private data to trusted sites only. This is kind of thing happens every day. There are a lot of data from different sites. Whenever the hacker hacks the website, he/she sell your information on the dark web or even post it publicly. This information contains your Email, Age, address(sometimes), and even password. If you are the one who uses one password on different sites then if data from any site is breached, then I am afraid to say that your credentials on every site is leaked.

In the above picture, you can see the list of site that has been breached. There are also site that are recently breached. This is the data that hacker shared publicly. This may include you’re your Email/Password. So better use a different password for every site you use. Some site like Hive generates their own password which is quite good. But there is also some software that generates some random and strong password so better use that so even if that site data breached your password on other sites will be safe.
