There are a couple of buzzwords in the crypto community that is always popular, especially on these #decentralized #socialmedia networks like Hive, LBRY, Blurt, etc... Ome of the most popular words is probably onboarding, but also the word engagement is ranked high... Right after them, another popular word is community...

On the Hive blockchain, we have TWO types of communities... The first one is so-called "tribes" and usually represents people gathered on the specific condenser (website OUT of usual Hive frontends) around the specific niche... For example, LeoFinance, Sportstalksocial, or CTPTalk... The other type is "native" HIVE communities integrated inside the Hive, for example, you can explore them here...

It doesn't matter in which form communities are present, the important thing is that they exist, that they can be created, and that they have (and will have) a big role in onboarding new members to the blockchain...

Inside every community some people are actively contributing to it, and the whole blockchain by creating posts, engaging, and interacting with others... I have noticed that there are some wrong views about the communities and people inside them...

In this video, I was talking about some important roles inside the community and gave my 2c about how they should be developed...

Thank you for your valuable time,

~ph~

You made a lot of good points in this video...the true meaning of community seems to be misunderstood on the blockchain by many...

As you said, a person can create the SPACE for a community & while, yes, at first, it's important they get things started a bit, it becomes a responsibility for EVERYONE in that community to help grow their space & connect with others within it (as well as bring others in)....

Without upvoting, creating quality content, making valuable comments & engaging, there would BE NO community. Point blank, without everyone doing their part & supporting one another, the "community" aspect goes away. Or it becomes dysfunctional at the best.

In Discord & Telegram, etc, this is where we can do our work, discuss ideas AND relax a little, joke, & have fun. This is actually healthy (in balance, of course) because we get to know one another on a more personal level, not just a name or number. Unfortunately, I have seen some people who don't seem to grasp this & it's sad....

So, all of these components are crucial to have a thriving community where we all feel like a part of something even bigger....

I enjoyed hearing your perspective on what a community actually is. I agree so much & hope that more people will watch this as well... Thanks Zoltan! Your content rocks :) 💚

Every person counts, and nobody is just a number or a nickname... I had that one video where I was joking about the "thing", and I will probably make more in the future...

It's not a business content, but it is a content that entertain, bring smile, and connects... Connect people, giving them a topic for discussion... As you said, in time to relax, then you make a connection...

When you go to some real live-conference (not the webinar stuff, or online things... but, live-live...) you have different topics, meetings, etc... But, the real contact and the real interaction happens in the lounge area, in breaks between classes, on drink in the bar...

That's why it is important to have places for different activities... and place for business content, and place for relax...

Wish you a great weekend Jenn... and thanks for the comment!

JS can get it all free with proper communication but hes gone on dominating way with its stake,

He is a bit special... A great example of how EGO can ruin a lot of things and your reputation (not that he had some good rep.) and make you more harm than anything before...

But, that was just a proof that community isn't a place...

I like what you say and I totally agree with you. In order to create a community, you need to put the seeds and rules so that people within this community can actually build it. It actually needs a community to grow a community. As members of our community we should all do our part in developping it.

Yup... And the whole beauty is that all people who contribute inside the community find it as THEIR place... They have a feeling of OWNING that community with other fellow members...

If people don't have that feeling, then that's not a real community, but a school class with a teacher with children... And you know who has more right and right to speak... :)
