The Love Hidden in Their Rules: My Parents

A pleasant day, Hivers! It’s your @rufajane back with another blog for this week. This time, I want to dedicate this entry to my beloved parents. You might wonder, is today a special day? Well, not really. It’s just an ordinary day with them but if you know me well, you’d know that I love dedicating messages to the people who truly matter to me.

If you ask other people to describe my parents, they will most likely say they are very strict. And honestly, I can’t blame them for thinking that way. My parents are overprotective. My siblings and I have never experienced going out with friends on our own, or even buying things independently. They always drive us wherever we need to go, whether in school, gatherings, errands, and more.

But if you ask us, their children, how we would describe them, we’d say they are very loving parents. I don’t see the need to label them as overprotective because, for me, they are simply doing their best to make us feel the love and safety we need and there is nothing wrong with that. Every parent has their own parenting style, and my parents’ approach is driven by their desire to give us the best life they can.

We could not ask for more, because behind the labels “overprotective” and “strict”, are parents who give us everything we need and wholeheartedly support our passions. They taught us how to respect others and how to act maturely, lessons that the world doesn’t always teach.

Yes, they may be strict, but they provide for us, not to spoil us, but to encourage our growth. They are always there, always present, and that is something not every child is blessed to have.

At the end of the day, every child deserves love from their parents. Sadly, not all children receive it. And so, I sincerely hope that those who lack parental warmth find the love, care, and support they need from other people who can fill that void, just make sure that your longing remains reasonable and healthy.

That’s all for this blog. Have a nice day, and keep safe!
