Hope your weekend is going well and that you and your love ones haven't fallen victim to the evil corona virus!
So much is going on all over the world and right here on steem to, easy to give in to all fear and negativity.
But I choose to focus on the things that makes me smile and feel the good vibes, like beautiful flowers from the garden ๐
And today I have choosen to share my favorite pictures of Iris flowers, they are a favorite and I think most of us have them in our homes.
Purple ish Iris!
Such bright and beautiful purple, and I love the shape of these flowers alot.
A closer look and the patterns are amazing, and it almost look like a tounge ๐ lol
With many different types and colors available, there is an iris for nearly every garden.
Named after the Greek goddess of the rainbow, irises bring color to the garden in spring and summer.
The vast majority are hybrids with the most popular being bearded irises.
Other popular varieties include Siberian and Japanese irises, Louisiana irises which are native to North America, and Dutch hybrids.
Height/Spread:
Irises come in many different sizes, some as short as six inches and others can grow up to four feet.
- Dwarf varieties 6 to 12 inches tall and wide
- Dutch varieties 1-1/2 to 2 feet tall and 6 to 12 inches wide
- Tall bearded varieties range from 2 to 4 feet tall and 1-1/2 to 2 feet wide
Exposure:
Irises need full sun at least half the day.
Some varieties will tolerate part shade such as Siberian irises and Pacific Coast natives (Iris innominata, Iris tenax, Iris macrosiphon and Iris douglasiana).
Many irises will grow in total shade, but they most likely won't flower.
Bloom Time:
The majority of irises will bloom in spring or summer.
Dwarf varieties tend to bloom earlier in spring, with intermediate sizes blooming later spring, and taller bearded varieties blooming late spring and summer.
Reblooming varieties will produce flowers once in summer and again in fall.
Color:
There is an extremely wide variety of colors, ranging from white to almost black; although most common in shades of lavender, purple, white and yellow.
And other things that makes me smile is butterflies ๐๐ฆ and they are sometimes a pain to capture ๐ to Quick or me being too slow.. ๐คช Lol
But then it HAPPENS... You get your chance to get some beautiful shots that are worth all the wait ๐๐ so Enjoy!
Not much of a color on this butterfly but some cool patterns and still pretty!
This is my favorite shot as both the bumblebee and butterfly is doing their thing quietly Side by side!
And look at the colours and patterns on that butterbeuty ๐
Times like this makes me thankful to be alive and be able to witness such scenery!
Mother nature has so much to offer us, and many things are healing for body and soul if we just take the time to look and listen!
This was a butterfly that was kind enogh to let me take some pictures before flying away!
I know that lots has changed and many People lost their ways and left.
Lots of negativity and some doesn't see anything els, and its sad.
I can only speak for myself... And I came here for the People, engaging, learning and I been blessed in more ways than I can put in words. And that is still here... The People.. My passion ๐ค so Im still here to... And to Stay!
I choose MY way and as long as it makes me happy and I can make others Happy ๐ Its what I Will keep doing!
