Yesterday was the end of Easter weekend, it is also Godson Day, when Godfathers bring a present to their Godsons and a chocolate cake with chocolate figures. The figures used to be only easter eggs but cake shops have been evolving and now you can find almost any kind of 3d representation, from kids' favorite TV shows to famous actors or sports players. The Godson has the right to "break" the chocolate egg and offer some to the rest of the family at the end of the meal.
We also brought a bottle of Mirtilo liquor from Serra da Estrela in Portugal. It is an alcoholic beverage produced from blueberries harvested in the hillside villages of Estrela Mountain. I was a little skeptical as the blueberry color was not very inviting, but it actually tasted very good and everyone who tasted it felt it was a nice drink to end the meal. I guess we will have to bring some every time to come back to Portugal!
