You do not honour me by extinguishing yourself, love,
like a star that surrenders to pain;
you don't find me sinking in tears,
sadness cannot frame our song.
If my departure left a hole in your soul,
don't fill it with tears, it's not the way,
nor build a bridge of shadows and ashes,
memories are flowers that open in laughter.
Live in the light that still shines in your being,
remember my laughter, don't stop believing;
that love, though absent, does not die, it stays,
It blooms in dreams, it illuminates the pavement.
Your poem really hits me hard. Thank you for that good work of yours.
