in GEMS4 years ago

Hello All,

This is another post in splinterlands sharing my battle for SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge.

THEME: OPPORTUNITY

This is a skill of some cards with that skill a card can attack with melee attack from any position.

I played with Dragon Splinter and used Parasitic Growth for opportunity ability which is a neutral monster.

Battle mana cap was 27.

You may watch my battle from the link below.

CHALLENGE RULES

  • I'm tagging #splinterlands and #spt in this post.

  • My lineup. Explaining why I put each card in that position and why the OPPORTUNITY is a good fit for the ruleset?

CONTESSA L'AMENT: Death Summoner

image.png

CONTESSA L'AMENT as Summoner.

The dark witch known as Contessa L’ament brings a chill to the entire audience of Mount Mox whenever she is called upon to summon. Her flowing robes seem to absorb light from all around; it is said that the eminence of a dark star is woven into their fabric. The ghastly, rasping voice she uses to control her monsters is naturally amplified as it echoes through the arena. Contessa wears a white mask so none can see her face, a mask which cries a single tear, as if lamenting some never-forgotten loss from a distant living past.
Lore.

Nice summoner with great ability to offer.
It needs 3 mana.

HAUNTED SPIRIT

image.png

HAUNTED SPIRIT at 1st position for high health, attack power and ability.

Many Dark Eternals by their third or fourth form take on a more ethereal and energetic existence. Their souls are beginning to merge with the Dark Reality. These Haunted Spirits are able to attack the living with blunt force and heal themselves with ease.
Lore.

I like this card for its nice ability.
This card often help me win a game.
It needs 5 mana.

FURIOUS CHICKEN

image.png

FURIOUS CHICKEN at second position as I used ranged attack monsters later.

The chickens of the Splinterlands have had enough. For too long they have been kept in cages and pens. For too many generations their eggs have been made into omelettes, their breasts and thighs into nuggets, and their most pristine feathers into rather tacky jewelry. Under the brave leadership of a great hero known only as The Alpha Chicken, all chicken-kind is finally rising up against their oppressors. This uprising, all across the Splinterlands, is known as the Cluckening.
Lore.

It's a rare neutral monster.
it needs 0 mana.

PARASITIC GROWTH

image.png

PARASITIC GROWTH at third position.
And this card is a nice fit for this match with the opportunity theme and it didn't lose any life or get any hit.

They grow right before your eyes, and they smell horrible. They consume every one of their hosts, beginning of course with the outer flesh but making fast work of organ liquification. One they have consumed a host, they quickly find another. It is almost impossible to shake off this Parasite during battle, but luckily there are several magical remedies available.
Lore.

It's a common neutral monster.
It needs 4 mana.

HAUNTED SPIDER

image.png

HAUNTED SPIDER at fourth position.

The second form of a Dark Eternal is determined by the state of the soul. Some of the more twisted souls take insect form, and the Haunted Spider is the favorite. The projectile venom and massive, armored thorax make the Haunted Spider a formidable (and intimidating) enemy in any battle.
Lore.

It's a death monster.
It needs 3 mana.

TWISTED JESTER

image.png

TWISTED JESTER at fifth position.
This card has nice power.

He is not here for your amusement. The Twisted Jester is the Captain of the personal bodyguard for the Lord of Darkness himself. While most Dark Eternals completely forget everything from their living past, the memory of his family’s slaughter continues to curse and plague him with rage every day.
Lore.

It's a death monster.
It needs 4 mana.

OCTOPIDER

image.png

OCTOPIDER at sixth and last position.
I use this card for its big power like attack power, health, speed.

You may be thinking, “A spider already has eight legs… Why Octopider?” For one thing, the Octopider is much larger than a spider, closer to the size of an octopus. It’s legs, although they can scurry like a spider, are actually the tentacles of an octopus. In fact, this monstrosity has nearly all the most terrifying features of both spiders and octopi. The Octopider can move easily in water or on land. Whenever threatened, the Octopider disappears into an inky, venomous cloud. They say the Octopider was a grotesque creation of the Gorlodon, a famed monstrous dark sorcerer of the deep water. Lore.

It's a death monster.
It needs 8 mana.

  • Question: Did my strategy work? What will I try differently next time?
Ans: Yes my strategy worked nicely. As far as I understood opportunity is a nice and helpful ability to win a match.
I will definitely try to play with this theme cards next time.

  • Question: Do you use the opportunity often? Why or why not?
Answer: I don't remember if I used it.
Maybe I used this theme with cards with opportunity ability.
But maybe I did use it because of it's offering in attacking from any position.
    That's a nice ability.

  • I am going to share this post in my twitter with #splinterlands & #spt tag.

Great post!
I almost always try to include a monster with this ability. It could be the difference between winning and losing. Being able to hit out of turn and often kill the weakest monster is a great advantage. 🥰@carrieallen
