Modelling clay.

in GEMS6 days ago

Hello hivers, an happy Thursday to all hivers here!

As I wrote, I got a little cold and because of that I'm working slowly on my brushes and colors, so today I don't have a new artwork to share with you, but I want to show you the small figures I created a couple of days ago using the modelling clay:

These are 3 figures I created thinking about the ancient idols I watched along the time in different museums and on some books and thinking about the fruitful abundance goddesses I studied many years ago at school like the Pomona of the roman myth and other ones.

My hubby @paolobeneforti teached me how to work with cly years ago and I like so much to create small sculptures with this materials, but I didn't work on it so often because the process is not so fast. At first you have to create the figure with the clay is wet, after the piece have to dry before to be "cook" in a special oven (we have it inside our lab room) for many hours to become "terracotta". We usually wait to have more pieces to cook before to turn on the oven and we do it just in the cold season.

Now those 3 figures are still a little wet, but when they will be dry enough I'll use a wet sponge and the sandpaper to make them smooth.
See ya soon and stay safe,
Silvia
