DEAD SPACE ISHIMURA - MY NEW 3D PRINTED SPACE SHIP (how dreams come true!)

in GEMS3 years ago (edited)

Hi, Hivians! Today I share with you our new 3D printed items.
They were ordered by our customers during these some weeks.

When we started our 3d bussiness, we didn't hope that repair sphere would be so popular.
We were sure people would buy something for decoration of houses, for kids - I mean toy models, maybe our great lithography - because we're the only one in my city who can make it. But... no;) Predictions failed, and now most of our orders touch repairing of household things, bikes, cars and fishing tools.

But there're some really nice exceptions, like this one;)

It is our biggest project for now!
our printer was working almost non-stop for some days!
Before it my hubby was creating 3d models of all these details, and it lasted some nights as well.

Our customer had a dream to have a model of Dead Space Ishimura - a space ship from the popular game.

//The USG Ishimura (石村) was the flagship of the Concordance Extraction Corporation and the first Planet Cracker-class ship. The Ishimura was also the first vessel of its size to utilize the ShockPoint Drive for large-scale commercial and deep space expeditions. It was named after Hideki Ishimura, the astrophysicist and inventor of the ShockPoint Drive//.

We agreed to make it though it wasn't easy at all!
The model consists of 53 details (!!) that have to be connected well and right, and we tried hard to make a right 3D model before printing.

Then we made some variants to see how it would work and connect together, and then we printed a final versions of details. So in fact, some of them were made twice, so we more than 60 details were created!

That's how the complete final 3D model looked like in our PC screen
And actually that's how the ship would look after that man would finish it.

Now the customer has to make them all together like a 3D puzzle, then painted it,
and I hope he will share the photo with us:)
