Downtown New Bedford

This is the one tag and daily challenge that I always make a point of joining, and also look through the posts of others that join the challenge and seeing markets from all around the world.
For this weeks post, I am going to share a few shots on a walk I did downtown her in New Bedford this week, I went there with two things in MInd, some shots for this post and to get shots of some murals I have seen driving through downtown
Starting with this shot of the building that hosts Freestone's City Grill, as you can see it was a nice sunny day and I thought this building has some charm, We have not tried this restaurant yet, but may well try it one day

This bar The garden is off to the side of a lovely little park we walked through, as I understand it it is closed because of Covid, one of many places hit hard by this damn Virus

And I did mention I love signs and could not resist getting a shot fo the two signs over the Carter clothing store, which has been around since 1947 it seems

BEER.Oh, yes. New England and how e hold on to our past... and what's wrong with that, right? There is something so warming about the old signs still existing in today's fast-paced world. It reminds me of home.
The stores that one can grow old with!
Those cobblestoned streets are my favorite and love the stories of how they came to be. You have such a lovely town and the signs are just awesome!! Thank you, always! I have done my first reading all of the #MarketFriday posts, which I normally do before I comment on any. It has been my habit since the beginning of the challenge. I have told all of you how humbled I am, so many people taking the time to put a quality post together, so that we may share with each other.
To this day, I learn something new each time I read your post, sometimes only a small detail is new, but, it is a process, like building with blocks. Each time, more blocks are added until I understand how it is built, or how you think. Your culture is one to be proud of and I am so excited to learn more each week. I am fascinated by it all. I never like to miss anything on it. I cannot even begin to tell you how much they mean to me, that you take the time. There have been some really interesting ways that #MarketFriday has been presented, all of which add more charm to the mixing bowl. The challenge points out our differences, but, then, it also shows many things our cultures share. When the day is done, it shows off how human we all are and how we basically all care about our families and others.
I love the experience of it all. I appreciate the love and support given to #MarketFriday! Thank you! Truly! Your participation adds a piece of your world, and I have to say, people are interested in is seeing it. This entire challenge has opened up the world to me and so many others. STOPI gotta get out there and start getting some great shots like these. I would love to be able to get a real camera instead of just using a smartphone. Maybe someday when this pandemic is over and I'm not afraid to leave the house. Keep up the good work!

Those are some cool old buildings. I hope that those businesses are able to recover when things start to pick back up. We have a town near us that has some really great old buildings downtown and they just sit empty.
Its so sad seeing so many places these days closed, and I do wonder how many will be able to get through this and reopen
I love the photos, especially because of the pebbled streets. I wonder how many blocks of it are in pebbles. Perhaps all?
There are a few streets with Cobblestones, not all of the downtown but a good square and you will see more of them in another post ;)

BEER.Old signage is so impressive, some stores stay the course and live another day. Sad so many have closed due to times we living through.
