The slogan of the current U.S. President's campaign has no doubt become a trademark in itself, and the phrase related to making "great" something "again" is everywhere, it has been used in millions of ways, in and out of politics, and that, whether or not you support the President, the campaign is a great and indisputable marketing achievement.
But, it is already common that throughout America (the continent), the United States is referred to as America. Without any sense; the United States is large in territory, YES, it is also large in population, YES, but neither of these two factors are really determining since it covers only a geographical third of the continent with 300 million people, and what happened to the other 700 million people who live on the continent?
Without falling into any kind of controversy (or politics) and trying to do something creative (as always) we gave a little twist to the now very famous phrase we developed this lettering that says "let's make America a continent again".
El slogan de la campaña del actual presidente de Estados Unidos sin duda se ha convertido en un amarca por si solo, ya la frase relacionada con hacer "grandioso" algo "de nuevo" está en todas partes, se ha usado de millones de maneras, dentro y fuera de la política, y eso, apoyes o no al presidente tras la campaña es un grande e indiscutible logro de marketing.
Pero, ya es común que que en toda América (el continente), se refieren a los Estados Unidos cómo América. Sin ningún sentido de hecho; Estados Unidos es grande en territorio, SI, también es grande en población, SI, pero ninguno de estos dos factores son realmente determinantes ya que cubre sólo un tercio geográfico del continente con 300 millones de personas, ¿Y que pasó con las otras 700 millones de personas que viven en el continente?.
Sin caer en ningún tipo de polémica (ni política) y tratando de hacer algo creativo (como siempre) le dimos un pequeño giro a la ahora muy famosa frase desarrollamos este lettering que en español dice "hagamos América un continente de nuevo".
In the process of sketching, only the desired phrase was written very loosely, little by little the letters and words were adjusted to form a good diagramation and that they all remained in a good position.
En el proceso de boceto sólamente se escribió la frase deseada de manera muy suelta, poco a poco se ajustaron las letras y palabras para formar una buena diagramación y que todas quedaran en una buena posición.
Then he applied thickness, resembling traditional calligraphic writing where the descending strokes become thick with pressure and the ascending strokes are lighter, faster and therefore thinner.
Luego se le aplico grosor, asemejando la escritura caligráfica tradicional donde los trazos descendientes se hacen gruesos con presión y los trazos ascendentes son mas ligeros, rapidos y por lo tantom más delgados.
By cleaning these lines and converting them into independent forms as if they were made with ink and a round brush, the letters are formed and therefore by joining letters we make words that we also adjusted little by little according to the result we were looking for.
Al limpiar estos trazos y convertirlos en formas independientes cómo si se tratase de tinta y un pincel redondo, se van formando las letras y por consiguiente al juntar letras se hacen palabras que también fuimos ajustando poco a poco de acuerdo al resultado que se buscaba.
At the moment of having the lettering ready it was just a matter of playing around a little to see what kind of effects and ornaments would suit it without going too far so that the attention would not get too far away from the message.
Al momento de tener el lettering listo solo era cuestión de jugar un poco a ver que tipo de efectos y ornamentos le quedaban bien sin excederse mucho para que no se alejara mucho la atención del mensaje.
