The years fly by!
As I mentioned in my last silver blog, I'm going through my folders with pictures from at least the past 5 years. I'm trying to make sure that all the folders that aren't used are moved to a seperate ssd because first of all, I hate looking at so many folders while just needing a tiny part of them constantly and it makes backing up the computer so much easier without all the extra GB of data.
But it's also to protect them from getting damaged or whatever I mean, there are so many precious memories to find back. I didn't spend much time to put them in folders back then so many of my pictures are still in a camera roll map from that year and I'm shocked by how many pictures that are worth saving and shouldn't get lost that I haven't moved to another place.
Smiles all over
Although not all was glitter and glamour in the past years, I can't deny that many pictures of our daughter put an enormous smile on my face because I'm looking back to the cutest little lady who was already a very creative spirit from early age. I'm first going to make sure the disk is filled with data before I go and sort the best artworks of her life to bundle them in a book for her when she grows up. I love seeing the progress she makes.
This was in Budapest in the months before emigration when my boyfriend worked 6 days a week and I managed the whole budget and travel preparation for us while also making sure the little lady was busy. Thankfully, she did a lot of creative things during these months. She just turned 6 here.
This is the end result, cute right?
So many pictures of food!
Gosh I didn't realize that even back then I took so many food pictures, I even moved some of these pictures and recipes to my folder to make them again soon because I totally forgot about them. Also, my bananabread skills have since upgraded from meh to top notch! LOL.
This healthy roll above, sadly not the best picture, sorry, was the food that gave me so much joy and made my days so much easier when they were open for delivery. I really did so much work back then that it felt like filling 35 hours in one day, it was not just work, it was managing the budget, making arrangements, trying to find accomodations in Spain (not easy from Budapest!) and also providing food and keeping the little one satisfied. I had 0 time to cook some days so when I discovered this place with healthy rolls filled with lovely stuff, I probably ate them 3 times a week.
I had to be efficien with my time and this was not even expensive, while I could eat twice from one roll as they were HUGE! Sadly, the final months the restaurant closed and I had to let go of my cravings. Still, this stupid ugly picture makes me smile looking back on these extremely busy and chaotic months.
Getting the house in order
As the Ukraine war had just started, and many refugees arrived in Budapest at the time, they were in high need for clothes and other supplies and I decided not to list all our stuff but instead first sort everything that we could donate to the refugees as it was still quite cold and we had too many winter clothes, that we'd not take to Spain anyway.
Several cars, I think 17 big bags filled with clothes and other supplies went to the donation point and I was happy not having to deal with listing all things online. But afterwards there was still too much left that we could not take with us so until the very last days, I was still trying to get rid of stuff hoping to make a quick buck for the emigration fund rather than donating these things as well.
Although the money was welcome, it felt very rewarding to have so many requested items for donation at the exact right time. We also gave away lots of the creative supplies from my daughter as these children arriving in Budapest often only had one bear or other cuddly toy with them, it was heartbreaking to know they had nothing to play with.
A final happy note
I also find many artworks I did at the time with my daughter mostly, and saw pictures of this artwork that I later finished and it's still hanging on our wall now.
I'm going to have so much fun sorting the rest, lots of unneeded stuff is being removed and lots of "lost" pictures are now being found back and placed in the right place for future references.
Don't you love it when you have such a trip down memory lane?
All pictures above are my own.

I'm glad you guys are happier being all settled down in Spain. Your little one sure has grown, hasn't she. It was kind of you to give out the spare clothes to the refugees from Ukraine, it's too bad the war still isn't over.
I hope you have a great day today!
