Well, in my region (and yours too, as we are not really far apart) there's a saying, and it goes something like... "1000 people = 1000 strangers". Meaning that everyone has it's own story why he thinks in certain way. And no, I guess most people did not even expect to see you crying. But there is minority, who like to poke and test boundaries in people. In negative way.
