Asthma & Covid19 Testing

in GEMS5 years ago

Hi Everyone

It’s been pretty stressful today. Baby E is not feeling well and wasn’t at school. The doctor who we had our phone consultation told us to get a COVID19 test and we are now waiting for results. We think it’s an asthma attack like he had a few months ago and just needed a more powerful dose of puff. I don’t have asthma so I am not entirely sure when he has or don’t have asthma and the only indication I have really is from him coughing or have heavy breathing.

The things we have been using are just the puffer but we have been prescribed some antibiotics as well. Pretty worried at the moment as his breathing is getting a little harder. We won’t be getting the results from the swab until tomorrow at the earliest so we are thinking of taking him to the hospital. The rep from the hospital advised he is able to go in. Just monitoring him now but we probably will take him in soon if he doesn’t have any results from the extra puff we gave him. He is playing like usual but the breathing is a worry and I’m worried overnight it will get worse especially the weather is super cold here in Sydney. Fingers crossed all goes well.

Wishing baby E a Speedy recovery!

Thanks! he is alot better now but on a new plan

I hope he get better soon. I'm using the steriods one less often but these few days have been hectic.
I think I should start using it as preventive measure.

thanks ace 哥. we ended up going to hospital last night and he came home at around 11pm. We don't use the steroid that much but more as a 'safe' thing to have at home according to the doc. We gave it to him but still didn't work. I hope you are also well and don't need to use the sterioids too much.

Here, the 'steriod' one is used a preventive to take regularly one/twice a day until we are well.
There was a long period I went off the steriod one but I was sick when I was prescribe to go with it regularly again until I was better. I still carry the blue ventolin just in case.
