This is the third time this happens to my watermelons. The vines are always so small, and - in comparison - the fruits are so big, so my best guess is that once the fruits start growing, all the energy the plant has goes to those fruits, and there's little left for the plant itself
How strange... Watermelons are so yummy. What a pity.
