Bandhavgarh National Park is one of the most famous national parks of Madhya Pradesh. It was declared a national park in 1968. Then the area of this park, spread over 105 square kilometers, has now become 437 square kilometers. The park consists of rolling forests, steep cliffs and open fields. There are many places in the park that act as tourist spots.

There is a fort about two thousand years old on the hill of Bandhavgarh. It has an interesting history of its own. The park built in it was earlier used as a hunting bastion of the Maharaja of Rewa. Which was declared a National Park in 1968 and then became a Tiger Reserve in 1993. The name Bandhavgarh National Park is derived from the Bandhavgarh Fort situated on the top of Vindhya ranges.

At present, due to its dilapidated condition, entry is not allowed inside, but due to the ancient fort, the state pride is now taken. Due to which it is a center of attraction for tourists. Bandhavgarh is also believed to be related to the Dwapara Yuga, according to mythology, when Lord Rama was returning to Ayodhya after conquering Ravana, he decided to build this fort, a symbol of his love for Lakshmana used to go.
