Lugar de letras, historia, y magia hechizante si se sabe aprovechar las luces que a penas alumbran nuestros rostros en la oscuridad. Ortiz es un pueblo ubicado en la zona norte del estado Guárico, a tan sólo 40 minutos de la capital ( San Juan de los Morros).

Los inicios del poblado datan de mediados de los años 1600, cuando colonos españoles dieron sus primeros pasos en las tierras del llano venezolano. ¡¡Y si!! se que parece curioso el hecho de que se le llame poblado o pueblo a uno de los lugares más antiguos de nuestro país, y es aquí donde viene el dato curioso. Si bien la fundación de Ortiz data de hace 400 años, y también cumplió el rol en su momento como la capital del estado Guárico (en dos periodos: 1874 hasta 1881, y ) hubo un acontecimiento que tal parece marcó la historia del pueblo para siempre.
The beginnings of the town date back to the mid-1600s, when Spanish settlers took their first steps in the lands of the Venezuelan plain. What if!! Una de las obras más brillantes de la literatura venezolana es el libro "Casas muertas" escrita por Miguel Otero Silva cuya historia, basada en hechos reales, refleja los acontecimientos que llevaron al borde de la extinción al poblado de Ortiz. Hoy podemos ver alguno que otro destello de aquellos tan catastróficos hechos que parecían poner fin a la historia creciente de Ortiz. Guerras civiles, enfermedades mortales y otros fantasmas que acompañan al poblado hasta la actualidad, hacen que sea un muy atractivo sitio para recorrer.
One of the most brilliant works of Venezuelan literature is the book "Dead Houses" written by Miguel Otero Silva whose story, based on real events, reflects the events that brought the town of Ortiz to the brink of extinction. Today we can see the odd flash of those catastrophic events that seemed to put an end to Ortiz's growing story. Debido a su antigüedad, aún se conserva las estructuras coloniales construidas a lo largo de su casco histórico, en las que se puede apreciar su parecido a la estructuras de los edificios de otros cascos históricos de Venezuela, como: La villa de todos Los Santos de Calabozo, Puerto Colón o San Sebastián de los reyes.

El caminar por las calles de Ortiz por la noche, te va generar un reencuentro con la parte mágica del pasado. conocer sus plazas, sus casas y su cultura forman parte de ti, de cierta forma te muestra un pedazo de tu historia, de tu identidad y de dónde vienen nuestras costumbres. En las fotos mostradas en el post, quiero reflejar un poco del contenido histórico reflejado en estás paredes que tienen más de 3 siglos de historia. En la historia de las fotos pueden observar el nombre de algunas de estas edificaciones y otros sitios que deben conocer si visitan el casco histórico de Ortiz.

Walking through the streets of Ortiz at night will generate a reunion with the magical part of the past.
