La Casa de la Cultura de mi ciudad Maturín, estado Monagas en Venezuela, es un lugar al que he ido desde pequeña, ya que los actos escolares algunas veces fueron en este bello lugar. En mi adolescencia participé de varios eventos como bailarina y como modelo, y también visité eventos culturales, de teatro, exposiciones de arte, conciertos, etc.
No es un lugar muy grande, pero tiene de todo, incluso al haber participado en actos, puedo decirles que tiene un detrás de telón amplio y hasta al aire libre que era el preferido para esperar nuestras salidas y prepararnos, hacer cambios de vestuario, comer y compartir con amigos por supuesto. Esta visita la realicé la semana pasada y quiero mostrarles algunas fotos de sus espacios y de la exposición:

The House of Culture in my city of Maturín, Monagas State, Venezuela, is a place I've been going to since I was little, as school events were sometimes held in this beautiful space. In my teens, I participated in various events as a dancer and model, and I also attended cultural events, theater performances, art exhibitions, concerts, and more.
It's not a very big place, but it has everything. Having participated in performances there, I can tell you that it has a spacious backstage area and even an open-air space that was our favorite place to wait for our performances, get ready, change costumes, eat, and, of course, hang out with friends. I visited last week and wanted to share some photos of its spaces and the exhibition:
Ubicada en la Avenida Bolívar, fue inaugurada a principio de los años 1980, y actualmente se le designó el nombre de Casa de la Cultura Inicita Aceituno, en honor a una profesora con ese nombre, por incansable labor en el desarrollo artístico de la ciudad.
Ha tenido varias remodelaciones y notables mejoras a lo largo de los años, y desde su fachada podemos ver que está muy cuidada y que los materiales de construcción, colores, diferentes sistemas de iluminación, áreas verdes y diferentes espacios, han sido modernizados y están siendo muy cuidados. Les describiré brevemente como está constituida:

Located on Avenida Bolívar, it was inaugurated in the early 1980s and is currently named Casa de la Cultura Inicita Aceituno, in honor of a teacher of that name, for her tireless work in the artistic development of the city.
It has undergone several renovations and notable improvements over the years, and its facade clearly shows that it is very well maintained. The construction materials, colors, lighting systems, green areas, and other spaces have been modernized and are meticulously cared for. I will briefly describe its layout:

AUDITORIO PRINCIPAL: Un espacio amplio con butacas nuevas en excelente estado, un escenario o tarima donde se dan conciertos, obras de teatros, los actos académicos, presentaciones de danzas, etc. y para ello tiene un actualizado sistema de iluminación y sonido, y como les mencioné un área genial para backstage.
SALAS DE EXPOSICIONES: Varias secciones destinadas a Salas de Exposiciones fotográficas, de pinturas, de esculturas, y continuamente varían o se mueven dichas exposiciones para darle oportunidad a artistas locales e invitados.
SALONES DE FORMACIÓN: Donde se dictan talleres de danzas con espejos y barras. Aulas de música con acústica para clases de como cuatro o teclado. Talleres de Artes Plásticas para estudiantes de dibujo y pintura. Y por supuesto que también cuenta con sus áreas administrativas.

MAIN AUDITORIUM: A spacious venue with new, well-maintained seats, a stage where concerts, plays, academic events, dance performances, etc., are held. It features an updated lighting and sound system, and, as I mentioned, a fantastic backstage area.
EXHIBITION HALLS: Several sections dedicated to photography, painting, and sculpture exhibitions. These exhibitions are constantly changing and rotating to give local and visiting artists a chance to showcase their work.
TRAINING ROOMS: Where dance workshops with mirrors and barres are held. Music rooms with acoustics for lessons on instruments like the cuatro or keyboard. It offers art workshops for drawing and painting students. And of course, it also has its administrative offices.

Actualmente, tenemos el privilegio de disfrutar de una exposición que está dando mucho de qué hablar, se trata de la muestra colectiva "Horizontes Monaguenses" (o la exposición vigente del mes). En ella, artistas locales exploran nuestra geografía a través de técnicas mixtas, capturando desde los atardeceres en el rio Guarapiche, los indígenas, nuestras creencias religiosas, nuestras tradiciones, etc.

Currently, we have the privilege of enjoying an exhibition that is generating a lot of buzz: the group show "Horizontes Monaguenses" (or the current exhibition of the month). In it, local artists explore our geography through mixed media, capturing everything from sunsets on the Guarapiche River and indigenous people to our religious beliefs, traditions, and more.
Es una oportunidad única para ver cómo el talento joven se mezcla con la maestría de los artistas con más experiencia de la región.
Otro aspecto que me encantó, es que aunque no conozcamos a las otras personas que asisten a "La Casa de la Cultura", siempre uno consigue con quien hablar, es un lugar para socializar también, y no se si en otros lugares es así, pero nunca tuve un momento de silencio, porque siempre había alguien que nos comentaba sobre el artista, lo que más le gusta de la exposición, si ha venido otras veces, es como que siempre es muy agradable estar aquí y volver para revisar la nueva exposición y autores.

It's a unique opportunity to see how young talent blends with the mastery of the region's most experienced artists.
Another aspect I loved is that even if you don't know the other people who attend "La Casa de la Cultura," you always find someone to talk to. It's a place to socialize, and I don't know if it's like this in other places, but I never had a moment of silence because there was always someone talking about the artist, what they liked most about the exhibition, whether they've been before. It's always so pleasant to be here and come back to check out the new exhibition and artists.

Dentro de la exposición, también hay obras de los estudiantes destacados, y creo que es muy fácil contactarlos para obtener algunas de sus obras o encargárselas.
Me parece genial que haya un espacio que brinde la posibilidad de exponer las obras de los nuevos talentos, y que sea recibido con tanto amor y admiración por todos.

Within the exhibition, there are also works by outstanding students, and I think it's very easy to contact them to obtain some of their pieces or to commission them.
I think it's wonderful that there's a space that provides an opportunity to exhibit the work of emerging talents, and that it's received with so much love and admiration by everyone.
La principal razón para visitar hoy "La Casa de la Cultura", fue asistir a la proyección de una película llamada "Conexión Navidad" de la agrupación "Chamitos Club" donde participó como actor principal mi amigo Alonso (el niño con el gorro de navidad) quien es alumno de la Academia donde trabajo y nos invitó para acompañarlo y celebrar con él.
Como pueden ver las butacas del Auditorio están en perfecto estado, al igual que el escenario, buena iluminación, sonido y mucho frío con el aire acondicionado funcionando en todos los espacios.

The main reason for visiting "La Casa de la Cultura" today was to attend a screening of the film "Conexión Navidad" by the group "Chamitos Club." My friend Alonso (the boy with the Christmas hat) starred in it. He's a student at the academy where I work, and he invited us to join him and celebrate.
As you can see, the auditorium seats are in perfect condition, as is the stage. The lighting and sound are good, and it's nice and cool with the air conditioning working throughout.
Y así es como siempre ha sido todo lo relacionado con "La Casa de la Cultura", actividades de cultura, danza, música, arte y amigos.
