[Wander with us to]: Markets at Lakeside @ Mount Annan Australian Botanic Gardens, Sydney Australia

in GEMS • 3 years ago

Hello everyone 👋

Recently hubby has discovered an app called ‘Go’ that tells you what events are happening or will be happening in the nominated area/state you select. Through the app, he found that there is a market happening not too far from home and wanted to check it out as it sounded interesting and would be good to go out for a walk in the nice weather.

The market is called Markets at Lakeside which takes place every last Sunday of the month. This month it was moved forward by a week as next Sunday it would be ANZAC Day. This market has boutique stores setting up their stalls, various stalls selling handmade crafts, food stalls/trucks, kids area and live music.

When we arrived at the venue, we were worried the venue would be packed however there was plenty of parking on site as it was in the gardens with lots of space. From the parking lot, you could already hear the live music playing and see the many stalls set up across the other side of the lake. The view was relaxing and pretty too at the markets. There were people who brought their picnic mats to enjoy their day at this event.

There were lots of ducks in the lake which made it very entertaining for the kids who were at the markets. Some brought their own bread and we’re feeding the ducks.

We had eyes on the wood fire pizza truck as it looked pretty good and quite a lot of people were eating this. While we were contemplating on buying a pizza from afar, we overheard someone say they have run out of dough 😖 oh well, next time...

The Botanic Gardens does not allow dogs so we could not bring Taro along with us. There was a stall that sold dog treats and accessories which caught our attention. They had pretty good flavours and also had fast food style treats which was pretty cool. The price was a little bit expensive for the gimmick so we stuck with the normal baked goodies instead.

We enjoyed this little day out as it’s been some time since we’ve done anything or gone somewhere like this since having the baby. I think next time I would like to come back to this garden for a picnic with family and friends friends. They have BBQ stoves too which really got me excited and keen!
