New Steem hardfork will not only steal funds from its users, it goes way deeper than that!

Yo yo, crypto enthusiasts!

Today is a day that will be remembered when DPoS protocol is heavily tested. It is the time that will tell us in which direction crypto and blockchain tech will go. Is it going to get much needed and deserved respect from Fiat world or wil this be a big sticky stain on everthing we did and will ever do?

Time will tell. But until then, let's fight for what is right and for the future we want to experience.

As you may already know, since the whole Twitter is buzzing, Justin Sun is ready for a new hostile action to nullify the accounts of a lot of investors and one exchange (blocktrades).

It is called Steem Hardfork 23.1 (I believe so) and it will not only nullify some accounts and aproxx 5 mil USD, but it will also send those fund to an account created a few days ago.

The problem with that account is that nobody knows who owns it as nobody knew this hardfork is comming as it was not discussed with Steem community at all.

A lot of shady scammy things are happening here on top of the biggest crypto robbery ever.

This can be stopped if exchanges decide not to collude with JS as they already did before and will not accept the changes this hardfork brings.

Even if they don't accept it, JS have that much Steem (from another shady deal when buying Steemit.inc) to put his own sockpuppets and pass the hardfork.

He already did that before so it will not be any surprise to see him do it again.

Back to my point.

People who will lose their Steem will not lose only that. They will lose time, a lot of time, they've put into Steem blockchain. I worked and followed some people that are on that list and I am embaressed to be part of the blockchain that will try to destroy the work of these people.

A lot of them put their hearth and soul into Steem project as a long term investment and something that can be a trigger to change this world into a better place. Most of them have the vision to be on the decentralized blockchain that is for people, by people. Not one entity deciding our future. We got that in YT, FB,..., and we see how the future is turning grey for them.

Some of those people on the list helped numerous people, not only on the blockchain but in real life. Not for their gains but they simply used what blockchain tech and decentralization offers to us. They used it to help others, as it should be done.

These people were under a lot of attacks while still trying to figure out how to bring value to our coin and how to help small users to get into the crypto world.

They were on the front line when shit hit the fan and when we had to make a step forward.

And now...

And now, Steem witnesses and JS are trying to simply take that away from them because they are probably hurt to be left out of Hive airdrop.

I really cannot believe this is happening and even tho' my stake will not be touched, I feel how hurtful this must be to those people on the list. Especially to those who poured their soul and money into this blockchain.

It feels that way to anybody who trully cares about the core values of the blockchain technology and decentralization. That's why I have hope that a lot of people will raise their voice about this.

For the end, it is so bad that some guy can just buy the blockchain and nullify the work and investment of people who are there for 3 years. JS will never know what those guys went through and how hard is it to push the blockchain to another level.

I am glad we forked away from Steem into Hive where the future is much brighter even tho' we have to correct a lot of things we did on Steem.

And that's on us. We need to do it and we need to find ways to make our blockchain more valuable!

Please, raise your voice about this because it is very very important for our future.

Peace yo,

Mr. Spacely

Well said, I feel the same way.

It's sad it came to this. :/

It seems irrational to want to steal 5 million dollars when you own a chain worth 120 million and have a chain you actually care about worth a billion

I guess this is all part of the move to obliterate the steem chain in any case and give a greater excuse to move it on to Tron but keep the steemit brand and domain, which is what he actually wanted because he didn't care too much about users, he'll get tron bag holders to fill that loss

When you're in love with money, you'll do anything. Money brings power and power is addictive to small minds.

That could easily be the case. I will not be surprised by anything from now on.

"I really cannot believe this is happening and even tho' my stake will not be touched, I feel how hurtful this must be to those people on the list."

Same here. It looks like a bad dream. I only have 300 Steem Power so even if my account would have been included it would mean nothing.

But thinking about guys on the list who investes hours of their life along with important sums of money from their pocket...like you said, I can't believe this is happening.

It really looks like a nightmare. We need to do our best to stop this and hope we will learn a lot from it.

Crazzzy!

@whack.science You are right! We all need to stand firm and raise our voices to fight for what is right.

This is a defining moment!

Well stated... sad as it may be (I had more than three years of work on Steem), it seems we are witnessing the sinking of the Titanic, here... I still have Steem, and had hoped to piggyback it out on a large pump-and-dump by JS, when he looks to take profit from his investment. Not sure if that will ever happen, now.

It's pumping now a bit but that must be JS doing it so not everyone understands wtf is he doing in the background.

I hope we see some good come out of this, I do feel for those that are being nullified by one man, one witness owner, one ..... what ever.

I hope we can channel some energy into completing our break with steem by finishing up the Hive Hard fork, settling the final airdrop challenge, and calling it done. That we can come together and figure out the best way to protect our witness system and to strengthen it.

I hope, but I also hope blockchain tech will not be compromised and stained after this. This is one of those moments that will decide the direction we're going to.

It's a better day today :)

It seems like it's still not over. :(
