Re: pollination after dark, moths do that. I don't know about luffa specifically, but moths go for white flowers that open (or stay open) at night.

Thanks for the info.
It's weird... according to what I can find online, luffa flowers should be opening during the day. I think I'll try and pollinate them manually, just to be sure.
