Grasshopper belongs to the group Orthoptera and the sub- order Caelifera. It is also known in Mexico as Chapulines, in China as Zhàměng (蚱蜢), in Russia as kuznechik (кузнечик).

I know you are all wondering how possible it is to eat a hopping tiny creature, it sounds creepy right? You would rather eat either fish, meat, chicken and so on..... But do you know that the consumption of grasshopper gives you more protein (easily digestible) than those you would rather eat and it also lacks the harmful fats found in them.

  • Treatment of Kidney Diseases: In the year 1988 De Conconi and Moreno reported that when the hind leg of the grasshopper is crushed and mixed with water, the concoction is a good diuretic in treating kidney disease.

  • It has a good anti-aging property.
  • Aids fetal growth during pregnancy due to the presence of Vitamin B12.
  • Its protein and vitamin content aids the regenerative ability of the damaged cells in the body.
  • It’s consumption reduces the possibility of having ANEMIA, as it enhances the production of the red blood cells in the body.
  • Strengthens the Immune System and prevents the effects of free radicals in the body.
  • It is high in Calcium and reduces the risk of Osteoporosis.

@yblinksy Gracias por tu aporte desde el punto de vista nutricional y la información acerca de consumirlos, sería cuestión de adaptar la cultura que tenemos hacia los alimentos que consumimos. Al ritmo que va el mundo en cuanto a cambios no se puede descartar.

Realmente necesitamos dejar de ser estereotipados sobre muchas cosas y explorar más sobre lo que la Madre Naturaleza nos ha dado.

Y nos seguirá dando pero debemos crecer en consciencia, menos materialismo...
