¡Me hackearon!
Así como lo leen en el subtítulo de este blog. En principio comentarles que esta sección de mi blog será para mostrar con mayor propiedad, todo lo que me suceda como freelancer y blogger de web3. Es decir mvoy a compartir no solamente de proyectos y apps que use sino lo que haga con mis criptomonedas. Si compro algo, si salgo, si viajo etc. Así que espero les guste esta sección.
Normalmente, creo que habría escrito este post en catarsis porque en parte es un desahogo que hago, pero al mismo tiempo fue algo que me ocurrió como crypto-freelancer así que a pesar de lo malo, me pareció bueno compartirlo directamente aquí y hacer el ejercicio de superación hablando del tema.
La idea de la sección será publicarla en mi nicho de confianza @mayvileros esto debido a que fue la primera comunidad que me adoptó formalmente en Hive y quien me recibió con mucho cariño y entusiasmo, al igua que otras grandes personas cabe destacar.
Pero en fin, llamé a May pare decirle que si podía montar mi day in the life crypto ahí en su comunidad y me dijo que sí que no había problemas, que mas bien agradecida por tenerla en cuenta.
¿Qué fue lo que pasó?
Para los que no saben tengo trabajando en la industria de criptomonedas y web3 desde el 2020 prorpiamente cuando despues de la pandemia me fueron llevando a una renuncia forzada en la Fundación donde trabajaba.
Luego de ello a pesar de que mi curriculum y mi experiencia me llevaron a trabajar para la alcaldía del Hatillo, en donde me desempeñé muy bien, nunca dejé de involucrarme con el ecosistema cripto.
Así poco a poco me fuí sumando a proyectos para colaborarles y salir beneficiado con ciertos airdrops, pagas simbólicas etc.
Pasé por varios trabajos porque la vida es así y así lo demanda la vida... hasta que dije que me dedicaría más formalmente a trabajar en cripto.
Un poco de todo. Trading, De-Fi, Staking Savings, sí también hay un poco de eso... Pero lo que más quería era mostrar mis habilidades a empresas, marcas o proyectos del ecosistema y como métodos de pago mis diferentes opciones de criptomonedas.
Así poco a poco fui escalando y conseguí mis clientes de hoy en día.
Hay un cliente super valioso para mí, ya tenemos 2 años trabajando y todo va increíble, de hecho ahora incluso hay más trabajadores para él y se ha creado un ambiente laboral descentralizado y óptimo bastante agradable.
Uno de los proyectos que llevaba para este cliente, es ser el doblador de los videos de ingles a español en su canal de YouTube.
No les miento, era un canal de mucha actividad y de mucho impacto. Una vez logramos más de 10k en subscriptores. Y eso fue lo que nos posicionó también en el radar de los hackers.
El hackeo fue a su canal de YouTube (al del cliente) y como yo también lo gestionaba pues salí afectado.
Todo esto sucedió el 1ro de este mes de Mayo.
Fue muy duro ver como perdí los libros que escribía, recetas, poemas, trabajos de la universidad, etc.
Literalmente me siento que me robaron todo. Sin embargo, no podía quedarme de brazos cruzados y empecé a moverme y contactar amigos, familiares, etc y recuperar lo más que podía.
Lo más tedioso sin lugar a dudas fueron las aplicaciones a las que me había registrado con ese correo electrónico,
El hackeo me afectó a un nivel de que cambiaron hasta mi número de celular sin darme cuenta.
Ayer (3-05-2024) le escrito a mi cliente-jefe que me cuente que sabe al respecto.
Resculta que no solo hackearon al canal, le cambiaron el nombre como si fuese el proyecto oficial de "Ripple" y estaban haciendo un livestream para hacer scam y robarle el dinero a la gente...
Super lamentable, otra lección de valor. Ahora sí puedo decir que estoy en cripto formalmente jeje (reír para no llorar, obvio saqué un par de lágrimas)
Mis 3 grandes momentos canónicos han sido: el rugpull de un proyecto NFT, ser víctima de un scm y ahora mi primer hackeo.
Evidentemente esto no me va a detener, pero no niego que duele un poco. Cuídense mucho en esta industria amigos de hive.

I got hacked!

What happened?
For those who don't know, I have been working in the cryptocurrency and web3 industry since 2020 when after the pandemic I was forced to resign from the Foundation where I worked.
After that, although my curriculum and my experience led me to work for the mayor's office of Hatillo, where I performed very well, I never stopped getting involved with the crypto ecosystem.
So little by little I was joining projects to collaborate with them and benefit from certain airdrops, token payments and so on.
I went through several jobs because that's how life is and that's what life demands... until I said I would dedicate myself more formally to working in crypto.
A bit of everything. Trading, De-Fi, Staking Savings, yes there is a bit of that too.... But what I wanted most was to show my skills to companies, brands or projects in the ecosystem and as payment methods my different cryptocurrency options.
So little by little I climbed the ladder and got my clients today.
There is a super valuable client for me, we already have 2 years working and everything is going amazing, in fact now there are even more workers for him and it has created a decentralized and optimal working environment quite nice.
One of the projects I was working on for this client, is to be the dubber of the English to Spanish videos on his YouTube channel.
I'm not lying to you, it was a very busy and high impact channel. Once we got over 10k subscribers in one month. And that's what put us on the hackers' radar as well.
The hack was on their YouTube channel (the client's) and as I also managed it, I was affected.
All this happened on the 1st of this month of May.
It was very hard to see how I lost the books I was writing, recipes, poems, university papers, etc.
I literally feel that everything was stolen from me. However, I couldn't sit idly by and started to move and contact friends, family, etc. and recover as much as I could.
The most tedious thing without a doubt were the applications I had registered for with that email,
The hacking affected me to such an extent that even my mobile number was changed without me realising it.
Yesterday (3-05-2024) I wrote to my client-boss asking him to tell me what he knows about it.
He hides that they not only hacked the channel, they changed the name as if it was the official ‘Ripple’ project and were making a livestream to scam and steal people's money....
Super unfortunate, another lesson in courage. Now I can say I'm formally in crypto hehe (laugh so I don't cry, obviously I had a couple of tears).
My 3 big canonical moments have been: the rugpull of a NFT project, being a victim of a scm and now my first hack.
Obviously this is not going to stop me, but I don't deny that it hurts a bit. Take care of yourselves in this industry hive friends.
