Hi there, friends!
Many rural folks of Pinar del Río, Cuba still live as farmers in rustic houses of wood and dirt floors. They are humble people, mostly self-sufficient from the land, and they are generally friendly, honest, simple, and hard working.
I visited a peasant family who today lived in a better - structural condition house of blocks/brick and concrete - but they still retained some of the structures they previously used for years, such as an outhouse, pig pens, and chicken coops, laundry room, wood fire stove, and so forth.
Among the photos I share with you are the pets (cats and dogs) that lived with them to keep pests away and watch over their land and animals.

¡Hola, amigos!
Muchos habitantes rurales de Pinar del Río, Cuba, aún viven como agricultores en casas rústicas de madera y piso de tierra. Son gente humilde, en su mayoría autosuficientes gracias a la tierra, y generalmente son amables, honestos, sencillos y trabajadores.
Visité a una familia campesina que hoy vive en una casa de ladrillos y concreto en, mejores condiciones estructurales, pero aún conservan algunas de las estructuras que usaron durante años, como una letrina, corrales para cerdos y gallinas, un lavadero, una estufa de leña, etc.
Entre las fotos que les comparto aparecen las mascotas (gatos y perros) que vivían con ellos para mantener alejadas las plagas y vigilar sus tierras y animales.
