Because #HIVEisALIVE. lol
Nah, there’s actually a lot more to it. In the past few weeks I have not been able to follow the community developments. The Corona virus (and recession prep), family issues, the Jahmfest cancellation and the future of @ReggaeSteem have thrown me for a loop.
I started powering down Steem about 5 days ago when I briefly checked Twitter and saw the that HIVE was on its way. Then watched as Steem pumped prior to the fork —so predictable. That was it, the volatility alone demands liquid Steem imo.
Not to mention the win win situation if HIVE replaces Steem entirely. Which unlike many optimists claim, won’t be an easy task. From an SEO standpoint alone it will take months if not years before HIVE.io commands page rank like Steemit.com. Re-branding will take a huge effort from the community. Passive onboarding becomes That much harder.
However, with all the cons and challenges ahead; I now believe we will likely make it through and HIVE will attract new users, traders, investors, exchanges with ease.
Going forward...
The Steem power down continues but HIVE has been halted. I will now blog on HIVE and support its growth where possible.
Consider this my resignation; I am no longer the CTO at ReggaeSteem, but will be available to assist a transfer to HIVE and other updates where possible.
To be more transparent: I am no longer actively working on the ReggaeSteem (Steem based travel rewards) project, however JAHM Token may have (other) future use cases, including but not exclusive to a focus towards onboarding Jamaicans until the travel industry picks up again.
It will take a few weeks for clarity.
I’ll also be available to help other Tribes and communities in the coming weeks once the hysteria calms down.
If anyone has concerns you are welcome to contact me on Discord.
Please keep your family safe!
