Good day, fellow hivers, welcome to my blog. I carried out my cleaning activity as usual. I went into the neighbouring community to clean up the place. The rate at which plastic is disposed of in our communities is alarming. The vast majority of our plastic waste enters the environment.
Plastics do not break down in the environment, causing them to accumulate in waterways, agricultural soils, rivers, and oceans. Plastics in the oceans, Plastic pollution is particularly harmful to marine animals, who can mistake it for food and ingest it. They will starve, become entangled, and drown as a result of this.
Microplastics can cause chronic inflammation, heart disease, diabetes, neurodegenerative diseases, cancer, and even stroke once they are present in the human body.
"We cannot swim in a sea of plastic and pretend everything is fine."
