Hello, my dear friends in the @cleanplanet community. I hope we are having a great time this week. It's been a while since I shared my cleaning activity with everyone in the community.
Today I started my cleaning activity from the new white painted upstairs in Udoette Street down to my gate.
The activity was a great one. Though I had a lot of people walking past me, I didn't care. Some gave me weird looks of, "What's this guy even doing, picking wraps and bottles he didn't drop?
I know on my side, a lot of people see the culture of making one's environment clean by picking up wraps from the ground as a job and shame on the cleaner. I decided to prove them wrong today by even meeting some of them to tell them about a clean planet and the need to keep our environment clean all the time.
There are several reasons why we need to ensure the cleanliness of our surroundings. A man would never see a rat in his house if there were no grasses in the surroundings, no filled trash cans, and no wraps dropped everywhere. When the environment is dirty and rats decide to visit the environment for food, so would snakes and other hostile animals which would come for the rats and trash in the trash can. This is why we need to keep our surroundings from the interior to the exterior of our homes clean.
These are the pictures of what I picked and each of them was put in my picking bag till the bag got filled up.
The last part of my cleaning exercise was the disposal. This is also a very important part of planet-cleaning activity. If after one's cleaning activity, the picked trash is dropped by one side of the way, it makes no sense and the activity has yielded no result because another person has to come to pick up the trash bag and dispose of it in the right place. So after my picking exercise, I took my big full bag to our waste container and dropped it there. This container is often left outside for hired laborers who regularly come to get the waste and take it to the waste site.
This is just the summary of how my cleaning activity went through today. The biggest goal I feel I have achieved is the part of my cleaning that I had to tell people about the need for keeping the environment clean and also gave them insight about a place called Hive and a community on Hive called #Cleanplanet where one can receive support and concern for keeping his surroundings clean.
