Ever since I started cleaning up
The community, I have mapped out my territories. I know where I start from, where I will take the following day. While setting out this morning I started thinking: Do these people actually notice that their environment now looks cleaner than ever? Do they even think that someone must be putting in effort to it?
At the same time though, does it really matter? So what if they do not notice, will that make me stop? Of course not. One thing about me, when I engage in an activity and I eventually see the positive outcome, it is enough satisfaction for me. I don’t need further validation from anyone. It’s not as if I do it for anyone in the first place.
This is not just about cleaning though. Any activity whatsoever that I engage in needs no reaction from anyone. But when it does come, it’s like a bonus. It still feels good, but I don’t wait for it. The moment we start living just for others to notice us and say something good, we have lost the sole purpose of living.
Whatever it is you find your hands doing, work at it whole souled. You don’t need others to tell you to know you are doing a great job.
