Good morning guys, another day of cleaning activity,
Today we are going to talk about pollution and it's effects.
Pollution is a growing concern that negatively affects the environment, health, and quality of life. One common and harmful form of pollution is littering, particularly the improper disposal of items such as biscuit wrappers and plastic bottles. These materials are non-biodegradable, meaning they do not decompose naturally and remain in the environment for years, causing lasting damage.
When people carelessly throw plastic waste on the ground or in water bodies, it accumulates in public places, parks, streets, and waterways. This not only spoils the natural beauty of the surroundings but also poses serious threats to wildlife. Animals, especially birds and marine creatures, often mistake plastic waste for food, leading to choking, poisoning, or death. Additionally, blocked drains caused by litter can lead to waterlogging and the spread of diseases such as malaria and dengue.
Plastic pollution also affects the soil and water quality. Toxic substances from plastics can leach into the ground and nearby water sources, contaminating them and making them unsafe for human and animal consumption. This, in turn, disrupts ecosystems and harms biodiversity.
The effects of such careless disposal come in so many ways.It not only harms living organisms but also contributes to climate change through the release of greenhouse gases during plastic production and breakdown. Reducing pollution starts with responsible behavior, such as properly disposing of waste, using reusable items, and raising awareness. Everyone has a role to play in keeping our environment clean, healthy, and safe for future generations.
