Hello Hivers 💘💕,

The Genesis of farming lies between how creative you are as individual farmer and also what you have to offer as individual farmer as well. When you read an article or you learn something on the field it is a top-notch for a very growing farmer to activate his or her own idea as well by practicing this method or skills and techniques he already acquired. So many people as a farmer learn but do not activate their knowledge. This is why you see most of our Young people not willingly to go to agriculture line but want to stay The White collar job which cannot be efficient for everyone. I said this because it is high time we learn from our past mistakes and get back to the reality of life and nature.

This particular method used on this article was introduced while I was doing my industrial training in the Obafemi Awolowo University teaching and research Farm unit. Most especially when I was posted to the rabbit section and the grasscutter section. I was exposed to so many plants that you can give your rabbit and they will equally utilize it perfectly well without any negative effect on their growth and development. I also learned that the elephant grass is one of the best plants you can give your rabbit for lunch or as mixture and as alternative for the concentrate feed.

The elephant grass is one of those grasses that you can absolutely capture and replant or transplant to your own agricultural land for better monitoring and grooming. When you transplant this plant or weed it will be used to grow your own animal within few months after transplanting. This was what I did after so many years of what I already learnt. And the reason been that I was not opportuned to secure any type of agricultural land whatsoever until I brought to the book the use of mobile seedbed techniques. And this method has been so helpful to grow so many crops you can mention of. So what I did was that I prepared the mobile seedbed with the use of unused tyre and I secured the transplanted elephant grass. At first it dried off but later on when I continueed adding water constantly it's sprout out and it began to grow back from inside the soil as you can see it. After so many weeks 4 weeks to be precise I harvested a little out of the elephant grass and use it to feed my rabbit 🐇🐰🐇 using this known method I learnt while obtaining my industrial training.

  • This is the elephant grass from where I already transplanted it. Like I said earlier it took more than 7 weeks before it reach averagely a growing stage. But my aim and objective was met. So I ensure that I always had a lot of water to it regularly.

After the elephant grass was cut. I asked to place them in an open space before I started folding them up to be in an horizontal form or shape. To the best of my knowledge you can fold it up to any shape but this is how I was taught and practically it worked.

You must be rest assured is that you have a very good and healthy elephant grass before you cut them or harvest them. You can see how fresh they are. It is good to analyze them before you cut them and start to fold them.

  • This is how the elephant grass will be rolled into a horizontal shape and this shape will help the animals to feed mainly on the grass alone without wasting the grass but they will utilize it accordingly.

  • This was when I already harvested the elephant grass aside for some minutes this is for a particular purpose and a reason. You must not be in a rush to go into the woods fetch your green plants and instantly use it to feed your animals most especially some fragile animals like rabbits, guinea pig, white rat. They will consume it immediately but they will also react to the the plant after some hours.

While I was obtaining the industrial training that was when I knew that the elephant grass does a lot of healthy performance in animal production. When you use it constantly you will see that their skin will be shining even without any medication used. They will also grow

  • You can also use it to feed other animals such as sheep, goat, guinea pig, Cattle etc. They will always feed on them. The main purpose is to utilize the plant without any wastage. It is known from all plants that when they eat they sometimes make fun of their food which will lead to more food wastage but when this method is being practiced as illustrated. It's a minimize the Wastage.
