Hello Hivers 💘💕,

Planting of cowpea which is otherwise known as beans is not a common type of cultivated crop you see around most times but once in a while when you visit farms you may come across it. It is one of the crops that is gone with little water supply. It does not required too much water to make it grow and Survive. I've seen some cases whereby this particular crop was cultivated even using sandy soil. And guess what it came out perfectly well even with multiple yield. I was called upon during the cultivation process and while the cowpea was growing, I visited the farm several times. Likewise when the crop was about to reach the flowering stages. So I would like to see one or two things about this crop which is eating by so many people. Which ever tribe you are or religion it is a must that you consume Beans or Cowpea whichever name you call it in your own country. So it is I really necessary for you to know how it is been planted and how the plant looks like.

Thousands of people out there if not millions of people do not know how crops are being cultivated and harvested. All we are concerned about is going to the market and buying foodstuffs. It is beyond this act in this type of new era we find ourselves. We need to know how some food are being cultivated and come to existence. In this way we can also find our own square root to produce our own food by ourselves.

We can plant a lot of seeds and sit back relax watch while its grow. You must also find ourselves in a situation whereby we own our own garden ourselves. When you have your own garden personally you visit your garden and plant your seeds. At your own free time, you consistently partake in weeding activities. I took some pictures of the cowpea when I visited a farm in Ile Ife, Osun state Nigeria.

  • When I got to the farm it was already planted and I met with the farmer who was also a young man finding one or two things to do and practicing farming as well. We had a lot of conversations about how a enjoyed farming activities. Getting into the cowpea farming, he mentioned a lot of things like the problem of pest and diseases. He told me that this was the second time of him planting this particular crop. The first time was ruined by pest and diseases. A traveled for work and before he came back, all the farm crops had already been destroyed. So he had to forgo that and come back this time around again.

What the Farmer did was that, he first of all made a little bit of guard net around the piece of Farmland because of the fear of rodent, grasscutter and more. After that he planted the Cowpea seed in row and column. It depends on individual choices to plant in this way. You can get into your own Farmland and plant either and hips and ridges, or nursery beds, or on the agricultural Farmland Straight away. But I will always encourage to make a little bit of soil tillage. It will help to go faster and the production will be absolutely massive than to just plant your seed directly on the agricultural Farmland without tilling the soil at all.

When when you start to manage your crops regularly the rate at which your crop will a emerge new leaves will always give you more and better inspiration about farming activities generally. I have done this several times too the more you give precious time to your farm the more response positively you receive from your crops. In terms of growth and development likewise in terms of good production.

The cultivation of other crops is also applicable to a very good farm management. Just like in the case of animal production as well. When you collect your farm birds, you give them good farm management as in good and healthy food supply, clean water supply everyday. Then you will see the fast growth and development within them in terms of meat production or egg Laying production.

I also planned for the cultivation of cowpea but not inside the mobile seed bed where there will be more space to stake them all, and give accurate support.

Yes. When it ripe, you harvest it and you sun dry it for couple of weeks. That's all. Easy to consume

Absolutely, regular crop management is essential. The more time and care you invest in your farm, the better the growth and production you will see. Your experience clearly shows the positive impact of dedicated farming efforts.
