Visiting my friend's mixed farming was a very good job for him and I also learnt more again and again from this aspect of farming system. It encourages more Crop Production as a farmer who either comes for commercial purposes or non-commercial purposes. I love being creative and learning out of the box. I saw the way his crops were arranged although you can see some already grown up weeds too.
He told me his stories behind this mixed farming system which I also learnt that it is highly necessary to practice this method to give a positive recommendation at the end of the Planting season. He also explained that he also had more of some cassava stem which I did not want them to waste so he utilised them as an alternative crop to plant although he already had that in mind to practice mixed cropping. It is either you plant Maize with cassava, how you plant maize with Pepper. I have even seen cassava with tomatoes and they all grow up very nice.
- The types of Maize he grew right from the day one is very healthy and this is the more why we need to eek for help as a young farmer or seek more knowledge for which of the crop you are about the plant.
- We have the sun flower plants all over his farm land and guess what? This is what so many farmers are looking for to use as an alternative for their rabbit feeding.
