My Rabbit Gestation to Parturition Experience

Hello, great minds ,
It's been a wonderful day, and i want to share my rabbits gestation to parturition experience.
A few weeks ago, one of my rabbits gave birth. That was her first pregnancy, and i was so excited to observe the entire birthing process.
Generally, rabbits are calm, gentle, and very lovable animals that connect me to nature. They are herbivores, feeding mainly on fresh grasses and vegetables. Though i feed my rabbits with fresh grasses, i also add concentrates to their daily formula for proper growth and development.
One of the things that drew my attention to these particular rabbits was how remarkable it handled its gestation and parturition stages.

The gestation period is usually the period of pregnancy. Usually, the gestation period on rabbits lasts between 28 to 32 days, depending on the breeds.
Rabbits are known to have a short gestation period, which makes them very prolific breeders. This means that a single doe(female) can give birth 9-10 times a year, making them excellent animal for small scale farming.
During my rabbit pregnancy, i noticed some clear signs of gestation such as
Enlargement of the belly
Increase in appetite and
Nest building

Among these signs, nest building was the most interesting experience that took place on the day of delivery. My rabbit began pulling out the fur from
her lower body part and also gathering the soft dry grasses that i introduce into the kindling box in preparation for the new babies( kittens). This process took less than one hour.

Shortly after completing the nest building process, my rabbits gave birth to four healthy kittens in less than 30 minutes.

This is the picture of my rabbit after 9 days of birth.

Witnessing this natural process was such a beautiful moment for me as a farmer.

Very good Rabbit🐰🐇 breeds and lovely bunnies too. @pascalukandy

Wonderful new additions!

I just got some rabbits for breeding a few months ago, waiting to finish building another enclosure before actually breeding them.

I'm growing them for meat and fur, but I'm a little worried they'll be too cute for me to butcher!

Thank you.
That is true. Each time I sell out or butcher a rabbit for meat, I used to feel so sad. But all the same, I am not growing them as pet. So I have no choice but to make money.
