Potato Farming| Veggies |๐Ÿƒ

in Agricultural Mindset โ€ข 3 years ago

Today was the day to extract the outcome of the hardwork and patience of almost 3 months. The plant really came up well, and the potatoes looked great. This was my first step into agriculture, and it was a joy to be a part of the extraction. My dad made this as a quarantie campaign, and is now more motivated towards potato and local vegetables farming.

The potato shined red bright and were of two breeds. One kind of plant had only 2/3 potatoes in it but larger in size, whereas the other one were smaller on size but numbered up to 8. It was a riskier thing to do as a first attempt. You never know what to expect. The fruit of hardwork really came up well.

These potatoes will go in the local market. Most of it will be consumed by us and on the neighbour hood. It was a good energy on farming. As, I love traveling, it was something like thagvplaying with muds and counting the fruit. It was a good experience.

Yum, congrats! How do you like to cook and prepare your potatoes? My favorite way is roasted in the oven with some rosemary and garlic.

In Nepal, we use potatos in curry for lunch(twice a day). Sometimes, we eat boiled potato dipping in (salt & spice). We also have it fried (fries and chips). And, Yes Roasted as well. I will try it with your ingredients as well๐Ÿ˜
Beside these we make Paratha( chapati/tortilla turned after mixing dough with boiled potato paste(salt, ginger, garlic, masala, onions)).And , we also have Pakauda( Besan mixed with potato paste).
These are the foods we make here, may be after the completion of work I would try making the food post as well.
How do you usually make a roasted one there? Any other recipe that you try making of potatoes?๐Ÿ˜‡
P.s : I saw the comment when I was at field, Sorry! couldn't respond early. Just came back home.
Thank you so much for the remarks.

No worries about timing, my comment isn't even a day old yet.

Potatoes in curry are great. The way they soak up the oil or ghee (do you guys do ghee in your curries like Indians?) with all the spices and flavors, so good! And paratha, yummmm

For roasted potatoes: Leave skin on but remove eyes and other bad spots. Cut them into chunks, whatever size you want. Lightly coat the chunks in oil, sprinkle salt and pepper, add some rosemary or herbs of your choice, and mix it up with diced garlic. Spread them on a wide flat pan or pans (we call those cookie sheets, not sure if it would be the same in Nepal) and roast in the oven at 200 C for about an hour.

Yes, thats right. We do the curry in ghee or oil(we dont use much of chilly and spices at home). Potato fits well with everything here. Almost everything, cooked๐Ÿ˜„

The recipe is interesting, and ingredients are also available at home. So, I will trying making it on, May be 14th or 15th. Definetly will give it a try. Thank you so much again. As, I made it , will share with you on Hive.
